Where I can get Snoop Dogg - What's My Name VIDEO original version.
I have some intro remix version but I don't like it and I have the original TV version but there is too many loud dialogs over the music.
Can someone PM me, please where I can get it?
Thanx

same can be said for acapellas.
however, i use instrumentals.
the instrumental of Billie Jean gets used quite a bit.

Acapella vids are necessary, there's actual singing going on, but if you play in inst vid, you'll get lip flap and if you're playing an acap over it you'll end up blending the two vids together which won't look good for a full song,
The easiest way is drag an inst to the decks and drop the real video on top of that (save 100mb)
can't do that with acaps cause they more than likely won't like up (acap audio and video)

and what about the hiphop shows that want video? one thing you have to remember is that there are many types of djs doing many types of events and more are doing video.
another thing you have to remember is that many people are Djs first and Vjs second so some people simply don't care about lip flap. so whether there is lip flap or not some people use instrumentals and want them.
people not caring about lip flap is sad in it's own way. we see them all the time.
i am not one of those people.
you make a good point but like i said i use instrumentals.
the inst i produce have no lip flap.
it would be nice for sites to have them and more people would probably use them. however, i do not see many people taking the time and effort to bother. it's a pain. so i will just have to keep editing a way.

Looping an intro or part of a song is the same effect as an intrumental as well... no extra tracks or editing involved...
jus sayin...

You could always edit them and put bars or pixels over the singers lips.

what i used to do, is associate the actual video with the instr mp3 file.
then use an effect that makes the video viewable... but hard to make out particulars,
(like pixelate, or things like that)

jus sayin...
sorta but not quite.
for instance, Love is a Battlefield instrumental with She Keeps On Passing Me By acapella just don't work as well in a loop.

totally hijacking this thread to speak about instrumentals and other versions...
i think it's sad that many people will not know the joy of playing with vinyl.
they are missing out on versions of songs being lost. with 1 mp3 or video that is all you get, ONE version, you might not even know there are other mixes. with a record you get multiple versions, usually better versions and instrumentals. these are being lost.
Who Got The Props, the instrumental is classic. some vjs won't play it due to lip flap. that makes a lot of sense. i can see why. i understand. however, it's also a musical loss. :(
to all those that have the Who Got The Props video set to the MW Smooth mix. congrats, you are one of the few.
there are a lot of vinyl versions of tracks out there not set to video. they should be.
there's an ill version of Me, Myself and I from the 12 inch that samples Micheal Jackson. where is that set to video? i want it. stuff like that and even instrumentals like Hey Ladies - Beastie Boys i want a video for. i have a use for it...even if i play it once i want it.
i am a dj first.
me, i am going to keep digging out gems and setting them to video.
so if you excuse me i have Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos and Take It Personal instrumentals to edit.

This is where a lot of VJ's are making a mistake in my opinion, when they refuse to play something they have no video for, I always think it's better to play to the dancefloor over those on the sofas, call me old fashioned.
If the direction of a night leads me to underground house that's what it'll be, sometimes you've just gotta say f*ck the videos, run some nice visuals instead.

I play stuff without video all the time
Don't need an instrumental video though. Either drop the inst under the real video (associate video) or play an ambient
That's a lot of work to remove lip flap from an instrumental unless you just loop the intro portion you made for the video.
The inst rides underneath a track, so the acap should be the focus (for video)

agree
i do fall back on ambient clips a lot but am trying to work away from them.
there are times when i only play the instrumental.
i only do 1 or 2 instrumentals a week and yes, it is a major pain in the ass to remove lip flap.
thus why i do so few.

I kinda agree with Tomatoslice on this one - one advantage of Vjstreet and that credit per video system is when you buy 1 version of the video - you can get them ALL for that same credit (clean, dirty, and instrumental, etc - SAME PRICE) which is kinda what Tomatoslice was saying referring back to vinyl days.
I get what puma says by taking a audio instrumental and running the video images over it but that is a lot of work .vs just mixing in a instrumental if you have it.
Some of the videos that come to mind have women in scantily clad clothes so I think lip flap takes a back seat to ass shaking until the DJ can work around to a vocal.
I remember dropping the instrumental video of Queen Pen - All My Love - lip flap wasn't too bad but also had to consider scene changes too when mixing in the vocal - that concerned me more than lip flap
I dont grab every instrumental but a few are usable when a extend isn't available.

I miss not playing some versions of songs because I don't have what I feel are visuals that match up well. I remain weary of over using ambient footage for material I don't have though, I feel it cheapens my product over all and makes my night less legitimate.
HOWEVER.. if I had a sidekick doing true VISUAL vj'ing for me while I cue up the next track and they are manipulating the imagery (like those nice realtime effects in the pioneer mixer) I wouldn't sweat it as much. I am just a one man show at the moment though, so I've got to keep it simple.
Not that I think you guy s are wrong at all!

i don't let the fact that i don't have a video for a song keep me from playing it.
If I haven't made an unofficial video for a track I'll use one of my ambients or let ME do it.
Just made a christmas ambient with a christmas tree, snowing and my logo.

Sometimes you play in a venue when the crowd is a bit more discerning, and to subject them to Pitbull, Rihanna, Chris Brown etc all night would be an insult.
There are plenty of tracks that suck and have videos made, but there are more tracks that are great that never get videos, simply avoiding tracks and genres to which videos aren't made is a huge mistake in its own right, right up there with train-wrecking. Very commercial crowds would be an exception but who cares about them.

Thanks for noticing! :) - just calling out the obvious...
It doesn't matter if you edit your own videos you can't do/have everything, especially if you mix credible underground styles (to which no videos exist).

Yes it's damn near impossible to not have a pool and mix videos.
maybe if you don't have a day job and edit 24x7 but who would want to do that.
