I have watched many videos over and over of great DJs on both mixersand it seems to me that you can actually do more with a 57 then the 68.. I personally own a 68 but I have my thoughts of getting a 57 too.. I dont use 4 decks nor will I no time soon but I see that the 57 has more effects you can do and just seems like a more well rounded mixer.. Yes, the 68 has cue point but now that the dicers are popular who needs the cue points on the mixer now and yes the built in effects on the mixer are nice but you can do the same with the 57 with the internal effects.. can someone please explain alil more to me what Im missing out on with ether one????

First of all, the 57 uses USB 1.1, which simply won't be able to do everything that serato will need it to do pretty soon. It also has 2 usb slots, so you can hook up 2 computers, or 1 computer and do some really wild things with effects. Sticking to the inside of the mixer, the 68 is currently the only "floating point" mixer available today, an infinite bump in digital sound quality. (see www.djtechtools.com).
I think for many of us, the 4 channels is key as well. Not that we use all 4 all day, but if you've ever dealt with other DJs & their "needs" it can be very handy—and 3 is pretty much a minimum in many cases.
As far as effects, the built in ones are OK but add a lot of CPU drain and can only be used with serato. You can still use them on the 68, but can do a ton more—look around in this forum for some truly mind blowing ideas (way beyond what I'd need). Also, if you are spinning vinyl (not a bad idea, and one where a lot of DJs REALLY want the effects) the 57 gives you none, while the 68 gives you some real nice ones.
I'm definitely NOT hating on the 57, it is the 2 channel mixer of choice for pretty much all the DJs I work with or admire, but I wouldn't say it is "better" than a 68. Take a close look at both—including areas that you don't use much now, it's important to have room for growth. Hopefully you'll be able to find a 57 pretty cheap after NAMM though. ;)

Sorry, shouldn't have said "none"—Since he mentioned the internal effects I assumed he wanted more than the filter & echo.

well what Im saying is that form some of the videos I have watch it seemed to me that the effects used on the 57 where not found in the software for the 68?? it mght just be me not paying close attention or searching thru all the effects but I seen some pretty ill stuff on the 57.. And YESS room for growth is always a plus never a bad thing at all.. we will see what tey have to offer us this coming year with the DJ technolgy..
