CDJ's with 57SL

DJ Jon Brown 9:57 AM - 21 October, 2007
Hey All-

Picked up the 57SL mixer and I love it. I was using it with 1200s but became a little frusterated because I'm a mobile DJ and usually solo so it's tough carrying that gear/lifting the coffin up/etc. Also, cleaning the needles every 20 minutes/the increased maintenence compared to CD players (which is what I've been using for years.)

Anyway, I've ordered cdj's and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on how they like using the CDJ's with the 57SL.

Thanks!

Jon

I like them much better then tables.. I switched for the same reason,,cdj's low maintance and easy to carry around...

CDJ800s + TTM57 in a coffin = a mobile dj's briefcase of madness!!
djmoneyd425 11:51 PM - 21 October, 2007
yeah i prefer my 800's over my 1000's...the platter is so much smoother and quicker. ball bearings vs. {whatever they use in the 1000's}.

i have the 800's and i like them but i feel the 1000mk3's platter moves alot smoother then anything else... much better then the mk2 and mk1 CDJ's
djmoneyd425 7:17 AM - 24 October, 2007
you're triiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiippin. i'm sure the mk3s are better than the mk1 and mk2, but not the 800. no way.
shocker 4:53 PM - 24 October, 2007
i use the 800's now used to use the mk3 I dont think you really need the mk3 anymore because you only use it for playing the disk and vinyl mode. You dont need all the other features anymore.
djmoneyd425 9:52 PM - 24 October, 2007
i actually started on the 1000MK3 and switched up to the 800s because of how much smoother the platter is in comparison.

Hmmm, I have them both the 800s and the 1000mk3 and for me hands down to the 1000mks the feel and the quality that comes out of them.

different strokes i guess.....no homo.
Jaro 6:32 PM - 6 November, 2007
And the 1000mk3 are not as good as the 1000mk2, i had the 1000mk1 for 7 years i think those are the best ever.
djmoneyd425 4:07 AM - 7 November, 2007
800s have the smoothest platter hands down...if you say otherwise you're wrong.
Jaro 8:15 PM - 7 November, 2007
how u will tell me im wrong, that your thing but your not like the ultimate tester. is like what your saying to me about 800 is proven but thats just your opinion dude. Most people don't used the 1000 because the are too expensive hands down homo.
Jaro 8:26 PM - 7 November, 2007
And if you know anything about 1000mk3 you will know that there is a new ajust for the platter, which u can now ajust how smooth or stiff you want your platter to be.

#1) chill out. there are far more serious things in life than a discussion of this nature.

#2) i know the mk3's well...i've got a set of mk3's and a set of 800's. I've had to take all 3 of my mk3s in for warranty repair within 6 months because the tensioner pin broke and the platter kept jumping off of the track. one time my disc drive became completely dislodged and misaligned. i've never had one single problem with my 800s. not to mention i know about 15 different CD DJ's that work with both models and every single one of them will tell you that the 800s have a smoother platter than the mk3.

#3) EVERYONE with ANY model with cdj's knows that the mk3 has the platter tension adjust feature on it. That doesn't mean anything.

#4) You need to get laid.

hahaha, yeah and everything you just said i can make up and tell you the same exact thing about 800 dude, so what! anyone of them can come with Factory defect it so happen you got one, still does not make the 800 better.
But you have one thing right their are far more thing in life to have this type of discussion with someone like you.
Dj-Motion 4:36 PM - 8 November, 2007
i would just say the 1000's are over kill when using serato. not sure what ones are better. I have the 800mk2's, they work and get job done.
djmoneyd425 5:13 PM - 8 November, 2007
aaaaactually none of it's made up. and it wasn't 1 player that had a defect...it was all 3. you need to smoke a joint and relax.
Jaro 5:24 PM - 8 November, 2007
