so im still in 32 bit mode-after reading that other were getting crashes-i was unable to get ssl out of the off line player mode even after usb was connected-booting mac in 32 bit mode seems to have worked-but notice bad usb dropouts when using other apps at the same time..is there any other work arounds?, i read before about deleting a .pref or something and reinstalling ssl-which worked for me once...

Hey simonak,
Have a read here --> serato.com
Having other programs running while using SSL is not recommended.

this was only during a practice-however i did not notice the dropouts when i managed to get it working while in 64 bit mode...is there a working method of getting the ttm57 and new mac in 64 bit mode to play nice?

As long as your using one of the current versions of SSL and you've updated your OS to 10.6.8 or higher you should be able to use your 57 in 64bit mode.
There is no other tweak to make it run better.. although I'm not aware of any issues with it?

Make sure you have the latest version of Snow Leopard installed (10.6.8) :)

Also make sure your using the 2.3.1 version of SSL.
If your computer is 64bit it should boot up in 64bit mode automatically.
You can see if its in 64bit mode by clicking on the Apple in the upper right corner of your desktop, clicking on 'about this Mac', clicking on 'more info', clicking on the 'software' tab (if your using 10.6.8 or below) or clicking on the 'system report' tab (if your using Lion) and then clicking on the software tab, and see if it says 'yes' or 'no' next to '64 bit Kernel and Extentions'.
Yes means your booted up in 64bit and no means your in 32bit.

I noticed a lot of people having the same issue.
I am currently using MacBook Pro, Snow Leopard & just upgraded my Serato to 2.3. It was freezing on me and running a little slow, am using a Rane TTM57SL & Serato SL1 boxes. Will that work for me?
