Building Plugins for ITCH 2.0

Galactor963 6:48 PM - 4 November, 2011
One of the major features touted in the 2.0 version of ITCH was the new plugin architecture. I'd love to spend some time building plugins, but have yet to find any sort of guides or API references. Is there any available documentation about building plugins? If not, are there plans to open up an API or release documentation about plugin development to the public?

Thanks!

Hey Galactor963,

This isn't possible currently as we don't allow 3rd party development and do not share out API. This may be the case in future but I couldn't say whether or not it would happen.

Cheers,

Sam.

that is dumb dumb dumb in my opinion

example: I need an equalizer. would it not make sense to sell plug-in for itch?
I'll buy it. i don't care what it costs, as long as I don't have to carry more stuff around

please either open the api -or-at least offer plug-ins for sale

look at it as another revenue stream

Plug ins is a good idea.......

Plug ins are a bad idea.
Whats going to happen when everyone wants to try everyones plugins. So many will end up conflicting with each other.
Leading to lag/drop outs/crashes etc etc during live gigs.

Then everyone will be right back on the forums Crying to Serato saying they need to fix itch.

If it ain't broken. Don't fix it.

I'd love to see a built in EQ to avoid the need for extra equipment...

Unless SERATO makes it's own plug ins.
