Why does my hardware not always connect?

I am using a Mac Pro OSX, TTM 57 SL, latest sertao, the decks do not always load. Please help.

Mac Pro Running OS 10.6.8 in 64 bit
Serato 2.3.1
Mixer: Rane TTM 57SL

Problem:
Connecting mixer to laptop, blue comes on but in serato it says hardware not detected.
Sometimes it works but most times it doesn't Please help.

Have you updated the mixer's firmware?

Also, have you tried other USB ports or USB cables?

Yes I tired a brand new USB cable, How can i update the firmware with out it detecting the hardware??

If it can't be seen by your computer try updating the firmware by plugging into a different computer.

I think you need to run you mac at 32bit, I randomly read this info on another thread.
