If (God forbid) Pioneer ever started making derivations of the 1200, they would no doubt:
1) add a "digital output" and a very awkwardly-placed USB jack
2) replace the pitch control with an OLED touchscreen
3) redesign the "stop/start" "33" and "45" switches so they start failing after a year or two of heavy use
3a) redesign the motor so it fails after 2-3 years of heavy use
4) perform some cute "hi-tech"-looking cosmetics on the tonearm that would actually screw up the geometry, (in part because there's most likely no one left at Pioneer from back in the day when they last made their own quite good turntables)
5) add in some proprietary linkage to some software no one ever uses
6) supply thin inadequately-sheilded audio cables
7) redesign the deckplate using cheap thin plastic
8) remove the heavy damping material from under the deckplate and under the platter (we can make more money per unit by cutting down on both materials and shipping charges, wow we're geniuses!)
9) redesign the popup light so the "Pioneer" logo displays brightly on the surface of the record
10) price them at $1999.99 each.

Ooops. Seems my photoshop skills seem to be fooling people into thinking the Technics/Pioneer hybrid is real.
It isn't.
I made it up in Photoshop.
People have even been calling dealers for prices. I guess I'll have to add a disclaimer line to the image to cancel out any rumours. I hate rumours.

Considering the topic you used this photo to make a point of, the fact that people are thinking it's something legit does nothing except confirm the point you were making in that post.

Should do the EmpathSL, or rane 12" MIDI controller.
Pretty sure they'd get these forums buzzing.....

That'd do it too, would be interesting to see what kind of hype you could generate just by posting pictures with vague hints about it (like all the manufacturers do these days anyway)
