Hi I am planing to purchase the TTM57Sl for this new club, that way I can have Serato, Technics and Cdjs all plugged in at the same time.
I have been using SSL1 for almost 2 years now, love it. However i heard there were some issues with the TTM57SL:
Output is low...is this true?
Not easy to use serato...something to do with the joysticks...
Also is it still possible to use TTM57Sl the same way that we use SSL1? Meaning , can we still use laptop to change tracks, cue points, loop....?

I have found the Output to be PERFECT. the Club I DJ at has some iffy equipment so I would always have to turn my mixer/amps up higher then normal. When I got the 57SL I Had to turn everything down a good chunk. Even the owner said he had to turn down the zone mixer a lot because it was a lot more clear/loud.
IMO SSL is a lot easyer to use w/ the 57 SL. Just like a new DMX controller, it takes some time getting used to. Once you figure out the basics efficiency is key. You can set cue points, scroll tracks/crates, load songs, jump to cue points, efx, and a long list of other stuff right on the mixer. Like I said, yeah it takes some getting used to but once you get it down you can do a lot of actions extremely fast.
Yes the laptop will still be able to change tracks, hit / set cue points and do loops. In fact you can use the laptop just like you had the SSL box installed and use the mixer just as a normal mixer. Or use both. I find myself switching between using the mixer and laptop do to misc things.
overall, if the 57sl had a vagina, I would marry it.

agreed with the perfect output. i turn the master up to 8, and hit 1 or 2 yellows on the meters, that sends a perfect +2 to +4dB signal to the house system.
no fiddling with an attenuator like the DJM600, i love the way they calibrated the output on the 57, it keeps me from clipping the inputs on the club's processor/mixer and insures a clean sound all night long.

Prinvale & Adam Jay:
Thanks a lot for your input, yeah it might take me some time to get used to the TTM57SL but as long as i can still use it the same way as before then it s fine... So the output is loud... cool! I guess i need to place my order now.. thanks again

well here's the thing , the output is not LOUD.
its not low or quiet either.
its just right.
Some pioneer mixers have a master attenuator preamp that jacks the output, this can be harmful to your speakers... unfortunately though many people have gotten used to this overly "hot" output. Past rane mixers have had a lower output, but the 57's output is right where it needs to be. hope that helps to clarify.
have fun with your new 57!

thanks AdamJay, can you please also clarify regarding the joysticks?Without going in details, would you mind explaining in brief how the mixer works with serato? Thanks a lot

sure.. joystick movements (i.e. move a joystick to the left, move it up, etc.) are freely assignable in the first 5 groups.
that is to say you can assign them to many tasks. cue points, setting cue points, loop in/out, tracking the bpm of either of the 2 fx processors, instant doubles, and so on.
in the 6th group, the joysticks are fixed assignments. the left joystick gives you 8 different FX timings (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, etc.), the right joystick allows you to adjust the mix % of the FX, and/or make it instantly 100% or 0%.
