RANE 68 POST CROSSFADER SWITCH & SPLIT CUE FUNCTION

D'Leon 1:53 AM - 12 August, 2011
Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone with a Rane 68 mixer had issues with their post crossfader switch on channel 4 ?
Yesterday I was testing the mixer with 4 decks for an event we got going on this friday and came along this problem where you can still hear both songs for channel 3 & 4 and as if the actual crossfader didnt work but does work for channels 1-3.
Just curious to know.... I know most people dont use all 4 channels so might be something to look at.
As for the split Cue im under the impression that you are suppose to be able to hear one song in one ear & the other song in the other ear ? I have the Pioneer 2000 headphones which give you the option of mono or stereo... wont do it in either function...
Let me know if im doing something wrong or if you guys are having the same problems.
Thanks in advance

there is a little 3 position switch under the filter knobs on each channel. it is labeled CROSSFADER. you can switch it to A, POST or B if it is in the POST position, the corssfader will have no affect on that channel.

Split cue does not work like that, in Split Cue the Pan knob pans between mono cue (left ear) and mono Main Mix (right ear)

Hi BIGWIZ
Yeah I know about the switch but it seems like it doesn't work for channel 4 because wont change in either position you can still hear both songs for channel 3 and 4.
Thank you for the insight on the split cue.

Hey D'Leon,

So if you put the switch to A for channel 3 and B for channel 4 when you push the crossfader to the left (A) you still hear the audio from channel 4?

Correct

you have the PGM SOURCE knobs at the top of each channel set correctly (USB 3 for CH 3 & USB 4 for CH 4) right?

Are you still hearing this audio through the speakers or just in your headphones?
D'Leon 7:45 PM - 15 August, 2011
I can't still hear it on the headphones and the speakers. I tested it again at our main event and you could still hear it. Just let the DJ using cdj's know that he was not going to be able to scratch or use the crossfader. Will be sending it back to get it looked at whenever I get a chance I already have an RA number. Just been busy at work and haven't had a chance. Will be buying a TTM 57 as back up.

I have the HDJ2000's also, and can tell the Split Cue issue has to do with the screw-type 1/4" adapter on your Pio's. If you try to split cue with them using a non-screwing adapter, you will see that it works fine. Not sure what type of extra connection the adapter makes once it's screwed in all the way, (you'll see split cue can work if you don't screw it on tight) but once it's tight the split cue stops working.
