i think this deserves its own thread
serato, please support this fully (with titles), map this, and give us all a template,
if you guys havent mess with one, then contact DENON
i'm sure they would gladly get one to you
it would only benefit them and you guys of course
us mobile dj's are waiting
and the timing could not be any better, assuming 1.8 and denon coming out around same time

I agree. We also need MIDI IN to get display information and light up the 4500 buttons.

midi in? you mean like a typical midi cable?
or midi via the USB ?

MIDI is done via USB. The MIDI out signal from the 4500 tells the software like SSL 1.8 to do things such as Play, Cue, Hot Start etc...
MIDI IN sends information back to the DN-HC4500 for things such as Artist - Title, Time Remaining, certain Buttons to light up etc... This needs to be programmed by the software companies such as Serato.

Serato gang,
can you please comment on this controller and specifically whether you guys plan to support it
i think this is an AMAZING controller
no need to reinvent the wheel,
the wheel is already spinning, now make it spin with 1.8

The Denon controller looks really cool, would be nice if it is fully supported by SSL.

it wouldn't be nice
it would be FRICKIN AWESOME
imagine spinning those cool wheels on the Denon, and having Seratos, wheel's follow... having titles display on denon, using those 5-6 assignable buttons for CUES, and on and on...

Serato,
Will you guys fully support the DN-HC4500 and DN-HS5500 from Denon? We know SSL ver 1.8 will support MIDI OUT. But we need it to be fully compatible to send MIDI IN back to the controller for it to display the Artist - Title, BPM, Time and for the correct back lights to display (synced) for the Hot Start, Cue, Play, and Loop buttons.
Not all of us are comfortable using Reflex nor do we trust PCDJ.

Yeah, they want you to register, which is no problem for most, but not everyone wants to go that route just to see the video

It'd be more useful for SSL use if it didn't have intergrated audio
Bit small and cluttered for me personally... but i can see the appeal for some mobile guys
