Am I correct to say that, since the settings are saved to the mixer, if I were to plug my laptop into someone else's 57, my settings would not appear?

The save to mixer buttons save settings for use when the mixer isn't connected to a computer.

When connected to a computer the mixer will user settings from SSL. So if you go and plug your laptop into another mixer the settings should be the same as they were when plugged in to your mixer.

I changed the B1-B6 buttons and joysticks to my personal settings on my 57. When my buddy plugs his laptop into my 57 the buttons and joysticks go back to the default settings (probably because he has never changed his)

Not sure if that is what you are asking or not?

That was exactly what I was getting at. I eventually figured it out on my own - I plugged into the other DJ's 57 and my setup controls appeared, except for the effects settings.

You mean you did not see any effect settings or they were not your settings?

They were not my settings - I use Echo and LP Filter, and it was Echo and HP when I plugged in. Also, the settings for both effects were not the ones I use.

Yeah, the current implementation seems to be buggy. I can confirm your findings so far.

As long as the effects aren't turned on on the 57 when you plug your laptop in it's supposed to recall the settings from your SSL, but it doesn't seem to work properly at the moment.

Oh, well that was the case for me - the previous guy was using the echo effect through the FlexFx, so it was technically on when I plugged in.
