Many people use screen capture software. Another thing you can do is run the feed into a camcorder. You can get excellent picture quality and the audio is sync'd as well.
There are many dj's here doing what you are asking. I'm sure they will chime in with what has been working best for them.

download screenflow for mac for recording your video sets and then burn your finished product in iDVD for mac.

if you are using a mac, try screenflow. you run the program along with video-sl. then you can export your video anyway you want.

If you want to record audio for your video mix then you'd need a 2nd output/booth from your mixer, then connect a rca to headphone plug into the line-in port on mac. Make sure the booth's master knob isn't peaking while recording.

Here what I did. I went shack to radio shack and got two rca to 1/4inch (they come two in a pack unless you want the gold plated baller's edition) I use the booth for my output now. then I have a rca to 3.5 mm that I run from my regular out into my input on my mbp. That way I have control ova my output and control over the input that goes into the line for my recording. Hope that helps on that end. Oh and I use screen flow to record the visual. And they tie right in together.

configure recording or something like that, you can pick and choose where you want to record from external monitor/line in/computer ect.... just pick which ones you want to record

Yeah you'll want to record off the other display not your built in isight there's an option in screenflow before u record it should be a down arrow. It will record strictly your 2nd display in fullscreen :)

its just poorly worded. He just means MP4 audio and video. MP4 sound is exactly the same as MP3, as MP4's are just a container file for an mp3 and video file.
