i dont think it worth even trying. Let serato and rane install Lion and once they give us the green light we can all do it too.

yes I've been trying it
DO NOT UPGRADE BEFORE RANE AND SERATO RELEASE SUPPORTED DRIVERS.
The first Developer Preview drastically changed the way OSX handles usb drivers and it broke all releases of SL after 2.1 beta build 21048. The old reliable 1.9.2 still works perfectly though.

no, I've actually been holding off installing on my MacBook Pro just in case it broke anything audio related... which it seems it has for Scratch Live. thanks for the info man! I guess I will have to curb my eagerness and wait for updated drivers ;)

yea, and scratch that again. If you have a TTM, you will have issues as it doesnt like the driver or something. SO it wont recognize hardware

Where is 49? I am installing FCPX on my SL side but once its done, i will boot up in Lion to see what the dev version is, but the one on the dev site is 11a480b, and i do not know if there was an update from system updates or not. I am sure that if there was a system update that they would of updated the website
why< do you have it working?

11A494a was released via Software Update a week and a half ago. But unfortunately, it looks like TTM users will have to wait until new drivers are released with SSL 2.3... unless something magical changes in the next dev build that may be released.

well this is exciting, the GM seed of Lion went up today... 11A511. this is pretty much the final, barring any last minute surprise gotchas.

It's not officially supported and won't be upon it's release. The Serato team has said they have found a few issues with it but will be working them out.
Right now, they are trying to hit a moving target. Once the full release is out, you know what you have to work with.
This is common advice regardless of if you are a Scratch Live user or not. I personally recommend people wait 3-4 months after a new OS is released. With history as our guide, new OS releases regardless of MAC or PC always tend to have a few glitches in them.

Chad, yea, i agree. If i didn't work with Beta software everyday , i would say the same thing, but that is my job to get the beta's and start testing our Apps to see what works and doesn't.. Im getting ready to instal the beta 2 of iOS on my iPad.. I have had it installed on my iPhone since it came out, but never updated my iPad... but now i see the new seed of lion,i might install that now and see whats up with that.... more updates coming after i get to the club to test the TTM

What did you do to get the software to recognize the TTM? Yah I can see in System Info that the device is recognized as the TTM 57SL, but Scratch Live still doesn't pick it up. Care to fill us in on what you did to get it to work or are you bluffing?

I just started from scratch on each build. I would plug in a Firewire drive that has snow leopard on it and is bootable, so i boot up from that drive, then ran disk utility and formatted the drive in the laptop so it was clean. Then i ran the GM build of Lion from the Snow Leopard drive and told it to instal on the Main Drive. That gave me a clean install.
I have done just about the same thing on each DP build and i have had no problems running the TTM or SSL on lion.

Can you post some pictures for proof? For some reason, you seem to be the only person that has been successfully running the TTM or SSL on lion. I had Lion installed and from Lion I had to go to Mac Leopard because I am not able to even get Snow Leopard installed.

Downloaded this morning, and while Serato's official stand on Lion is that it isn't compatible, I can report that so far my experience has been flawless.
I have only ran it for an hour, but I didn't notice any issues at all during that time. I will be testinbg more as I get chances.
I am running:
Serato SL1
MacBook Pro (Early 2011) with
2.0 ghz i7 quad
4gb RAM
and of course OS X 10.7 (Lion)
If you decide to test it I strongly advise that you backup first! I backed up to an external hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner. It will allow you to make a complete backup that can be booted from. In the case that Lion isn't working for you, you can boot into your backup (Snow Leopard) and use Carbon Copy Cloner again to restore back to exactly where you were before you started.
Be safe, and I hope others have the same positive results that I did.

I am running SSL 2.2 right now in Lion with no problems so far 12hours in. By the way I do have the new SSL 2.3 build 23059 on my computer too. I am also using a TTM57SL and my 64-bit Kernel Extensions is on.
From what it looks like you have to have beta SSL 2.3 build 23059 on your computer for SSL 2.2 to run on Lion. There has to be 64bit drives on that 2.3 Build for the TTM57SL. Cause when I did not have the beta yet installed the 2.2 would not see my 57 at all and now it dose with no problem.

Not entirely true, you might need it to use the TTM57SL, but I only have 2.2 and it is running fine with an SL1.
That being said, I am still going to restore my backup of Snow Leopard before my gig tomorrow. If something was going to go wrong it would be during a gig and I can't take that chance!

My two cents.
I'm using a Powerbook 2.66 intel duo.
I updated my operating system from OS X 10.6 ==> 10.7 Lion. Of course, without checking to see if Serato (and my Rane ttm57 would work with it)... At first, it did not. I was using sera to 2.2...
I decided to test the new Beta version (Serato 2.3) before going back to re-install the older version of OS X 10.6... It now works! I'm currently running my video and audio while I write this discussion note. So far, so good.
AND... I also use Vestax VCI-300 (with Itch) on the same computer. That too is working --- so far.
I'll keep you posted on any glitches.
Crossing my fingers. I've got to go spin on the new operating system and beta version for events this week... I might be crazy.

The TTM57 also doesn't work for me on 2.2.2 unless I use 2.3 beta. Had to use one at a gig, but luckily, I brought my SL4 and just connected it to that and ran 2.2.2 fine.

To all TTM SL users!!! with 2.2.0 it doesn't work, so i downloaded the beta 2.3.0 version. I am also using Serato 2.2 with Lion its working great except for the Track Time below the BPM doesnt not seem to work. It tells you the track length but... you can edit it by clicking to make it count down or count up like i was able to in Snow Leopard with Serato 2.2. Aside from that small unimportant(to me, since the rotating wheel already shows you both count down and count up) hick-up its all good. tested for a 2 hour set earlier tonight. Been using OSX Lion with the TTM 57SL or the SL1 interface with no big problems for my past few gigs (4 or 5 hours each). I'm using a 2011 13" MB pro.
I did notice USB drop outs which was worse last time I played, but I'm thinking that was because I had my itunes and google chrome with loads of pages open. But it has crossed my mind that the local snapshots feature of LIon might slow HD performance when SSL is running. Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this?

Read all the posts and look at how many people have been running Lion successfully, theres truckloads of them.
This is the best thing Serato users can do, test and report to help the developers.
Plus i don't mind using it because i take all my tunes on a USB just incase it crashes. Always have a backup plan ;)

I was running 2.3 + SL4 + CDJ2000 (HID) + CMX 3000 on Macbook Pro, OS Lion, 2.66Ghz i7, 4gb, 500gb over the weekend and the only issue I encountered was that two tracks skipped (luckily it didn't happen whilst I was mixing in the next track). No issues with crashing or any latency. I was playing for 6 - 7 hours non-stop.
However, I am now downgrading to Snow Leopard until Rane fully support Lion.
Any suggestions on the best way to downgrade without loosing any data?

I just used 2.3 with Lion last night at a 4 hour gig WITH Mix Emergency and didn't run into a single issue!!! When testing out beforehand, I had Mail, BusyCal, Safari, Skype, and Twitter open too and, with SSL 2.3 and ME 1.7.2, and I ran out of RAM so SSL stuttered and ME crashed - so moral of the story - close all other apps just in case. But again, perfect set last night! Thank you Rane and Serato!
@DJ_Taj - use time machine backups to restore your information after the reinstall, but google downgrading to snow leopard and you'll find directions on downgrading.

I have to say that I was a fool and did not even think to research, I was SO EXCITED to use my new MBP with LION, and I never even tested it OFFLINE, all i did was gather my music for the night, make a few crates, and head to the show.
There it was shining it's bad ass unblemished aluminum gently washed with the tears of the mythical unicorn.
All was well people dancing, the vibe was great.
4 songs in, and TROUBLE DJ VAGAB0ND TROUBLE< YOU CAN NO LONGER AFFECT PITCH!

The music played on, but I had to work harder than my first day of school, manipulating EVERYTHING with my MOUSE!
DO NOT GO TO LION! Not yet, anyway.
MOVING BACK to OSX, has also caused me grief, my mouse is not working as it should, and I am sure there is more on the horizon, I will be testing tonight with all my gear to see if it's joining me on my Sunday gig.
Perhaps it will not see the blue lights of a nightclub till OCTOBER is only a memory. PLEASE Serato get with it. OR give us a link to 3rd party people who have it sorted. MIDI issues, and CD issues are killing me.

@Vagab0nd - Were you using Serato 2.3?
Serato say they have now fixed issues with Lion (same day you posted)...

Anyone else tested Serato 2.3 + Lion + CDJ2000 (HID) ?

L2daGee, did you analyse your vids and did you get loads of corruptions when you updated?

I had major issues with 2.3.1 using a brand new Mac Laptop ,Lion OS 10.7.2 It only started after I updated my software from 10.7.1 (worked fine) to 10.7.2, then the trouble started. The right turntable BPM's would slow down to a snails crawl after 5 minutes of playing (or less, very temperamental). Would work fine on internal. Nightmare since I was DJ'ing a party. The left side worked fine, so I enabled "instant doubles" to move the song onto internal on the right turntable and then mix the next song. No bueno. Just downgraded to 2.2, so going to see how that works out.

Been using Mac OS X 10.7.2 and SSL 2.3.3 for a few weeks now with ME 1.7.2 and no problems! Best thing I did was upgrade to 8 GB, but otherwise, no crashes or freezes at all. Solid as always!

The RAM upgrade was a cheap upgrade for me too. The only thing I would suggest is make sure you spend an extra $10 or so and get well known brand name ram (like Crucial) instead of the cheapest. Nothing worse than getting random crashes from a crappy SODIMM!

I'm running snow leopard 10.6.8 with scratch live 2.4.2, plus the MixEmergency 2.1.0 Public Beta. I want to upgrade to Lion Os x 10.7.2 Any known issues running Lion Os x 10.7.2?

Are there still no fixes to the Lion OSX problems in scratch live?
I've just upgraded my mac to avoid problems and for better process speed just to find it takes 10mins to load up and is very slow.
Anyone know whats join on??

I don't have any issues like that in Lion.. maybe a fresh install is the way to go for you.

I tired OS X and it change the Midi Drivers and now the NS 6 doesn't recognize the computer. Not to mention it crashes the computer when plugged into the computer, how about my computer crashed 5 times. I hate OSX.
