i've had this question burning in my head...why doesnt serato make a version where you can save all your cue points in serato..example..like if you switch computers..or your computer crashes...or maybe create a folder to go to to save all your files that have cue points, the reason i mention this is i recently had a computer crash on me and i saved my music but had to do all my cue points over and that took weeks..am i the only one that is thinking this...can you imagine if there was a way to do this..you would get more dj or video dj's to switch their computers more often,as you know technology is getting better and better...plus the fact you buy a laptop that is like 1,6oo bucks then 4 months there is something faster and better..(mac book pro models) i hope this makes sense for alot of dj's and i might be late on this topic..there might be a program that does this if so please let me know..thanks for listening...M.L.F. Hey Razor Rob,
For music files, the cue points are saved to the file itself. If you move these files to another drive or computer, the cue points will be recalled. For most video files, the cue points are saved to the file itself as well. However for some video files we aren't able to write the metadata to the file itself, so for these files we write to an external metadata file. These files are kept in the _Serato_ -> Metadata folder.
I hope this clears things up :)
