!!BULB!!
Here's my idea.
Serato should make a DONGLE that connects between the hardware and the USB cable. Kinda like an extension. Serato will add a new feature that will be smart enough to buffer/copy the song playing into the Dongle and finish playing it off from there. This might require the DJ to press a button on the software to "RECORD" his last song into the dongle. When the song is done coping, they can unplug the USB from the laptops and make the switch.
When the upcoming DJ plugs the USB cable into his computer, Serato will display the song on internal mode. He can pick it up from there. When the USB Dongle is disconnected or the song is over, the song will self destruct from the dongle. hehehe
This Dongle can also be used to unlock Serato features on a plane without having to plug in the box.
:-)

so will this "dongle" have RCA outs then?
and, pure semantics here, but i don't think what you are describing is a dongle but more of a "bridge". Dongles have no direct functionality, they simply add hardware capabilities to software (i.e. the M-Powered ilok dongle makes it so you can use PTMP with an maudio device), or they add authorization capabilities to software.
The definition of a dongle does not include actual functionality of the dongle itself... its more like a janitor that has a very large set of keys. :)
