anyone running scratch live on mac osx 10.3.9? i doubt theres any support for 10.4 yet coz its only a few days old but if anyone has and info hit me up! peace!

10.3.9 is good to go.

I just got 10.4 but I will not migrate to it until there's a fix for Serato or Apple updates to a version that is Serato compatible.

Now that's love.

i'm using both 10.3.9 and 10.4. no problems on either yet that i can find.

whats 10.4 like overall?

a-sides: respect mate... always dug eastside and fuze dnb labels. :)

it seems a lot faster.. spotlight is excellent. a couple things seem buggy yet though... spotlight doesn't seem to want to search my users folder on my other os x partition with 10.3.9 on it (i think because it has an "active" system folder).

on dashboard: most excellent. i find myself hitting up the calendar, post-it note, and calculator widgets the most but i'm sure there will be other killer apps (besides the built-in ones) for it as well. the weather and flight widgets are less useful, but still cool. how it ties into expose is what killed confabulator imo.

on safari i wish this forum would really kick ass if it had an RSS feed.... it could tell me when i have new posts without even going to the site.

10.4 is running fine for me too :)

i agree with spin: dashboard >=crack. writing widgets for dashboard looks simple; just html and javascript. i'm trying to think of a helpful widget. rss feed would be tits.

i kept one of my laptops @ 10.3.9 and took the other one up to 10.4. no regrets so far.

thanks guys.... maybe i'll upgrade the lappy to 10.3.9 for a bit and see how it goes.. downgrading systems is a bitch:( i want 10.4 bad but cant be asked with the system mares that will come with it till everyone updates driversd. EZ!

I highly recomend sticking with 10.3.9 untill the Serrato guys say otherwise! My roomate tried 10.4 lastnight at a show and spent all his time trying to get it to work right. yeah....he probably fucked something up when upgrading, but I'll wait till we get the ok. Why fix something that isn't broken?
10.4.1 will be sweet!

don't just upgrade your system from 10.3 to 10.4: doing this will bring over any problems that were there before or amplify ones you didn't know existed before. use an 'archive and install' option rather than 'upgrade'. this will put in a clean system, but you can still keep your user and network settings (only drawback is you have to re-install your printers).

ive upgraded to 10.4 and been running serato flawlessly for about 5 or 6 hours now. No problems at all.

agree with 3pm... the upgrade option is the most risky if you don't know what you're doing. if you have all your data backed up (or like playing with fire like me), it is the the quickest to use however and you don't have to reinstall all your apps.

what i did was put tiger on a seperate partition to try it out. i didn't seem to have any problems with it so i did the upgrade option. no problems thus far.

archive and install doesn't require you to re-install apps (just clean install). clean install is preferred if you've got everything backed up (you do own box copies for all those apps right?)

ok, i REALLY want this site to have an RSS feed now. i just found the 'RSS Visualizer' screensaver in 10.4.

I did an archive install of 10.4 yesterday and I played out with Serato for 4 hours with NO problems!

Yeah, the RSS feed is a great idea!
