SSL should allow you to play samples on a single key press. For example you could assign things like drops, sirens, explosions etc etc to a set of keys, so they could be played at any time.

There is the issue of only two outputs on the SSL box. However, the sample could be played across both channels, at standard speed, regardless of the status of the decks.

There should be a setting to control the volume of the samples.
