So I get to my gig (Im a mobile DJ). And it was the first time that I decided to bring my turntables as well as my big CD rack system and daisy chain them together. So all in all I had 2 Serato systems hooked up. 1 to my 1200's...1 to my Denon 6000s and then I still had 1 channel of my backup CD player hooked up to play a CD. Ill post pics of the setup when I can. So i connect everything up, clean up my wires and pretty much all set to go, just need a sound check. I start to play and all i get is an echo effect coming out on 1 speaker. Im like what the F??? So I try on 1 of the CD players and same result. So my obvious reaction is that I hooked up something wrong in the whole dasiy chain/dual serato setups. Turns out everyting is fine, and it has to be the amp. I put my backup amp on and everyting is fine after that, no problems the rest of the night. Has anyone else had this problem with an amp before?? Ive never had taht type of a problem with an amp. It was only picking up every other word of the song on 1 speaker and producing this weird echo effect.
Anyway...time to get a new amp. I have a Crown CE2000 which I normally used for my subs but since I had to switch that to run my mains, I am thinking of just keeping that for my mains and getting a new sub amp. Any suggestions. I was thinking of a QSC since I only have 2 rack spaces to play with. Any ideas in the $600-700 range?

theres the xti series from crown... i've been looking at that for a while now. i think one of the huge advantages on them is the weight of them. i think they are 20 lbs lighter than anything else on the market
i had a problem like that once. someone else had hooked the system up, but the problem only happened when you were playing a channel, and any of the other channels were up at all. if they were down than no echo...

Thats weird. Yea, this was everything that was doing the echo. No matter what we tried. Very bizzare. Thank god for having back up equipment!
I saw the XTI amps. They look nice. I actually think they replaced the CE series. Lighter is definatly a plus for me. Since my rack already weighs over 200 pounds!

serious! imagine 3 amps, that would be 60 lbs lighter!
the xti's also have a built in crossover, so ideally if you have more than one running you could go without an external crossover, or if you were running it to the subs, you could easially set it up for that.

Well the crossover feature really isnt a problem for me since I already have an external crossover. But it would free up some wires back and forth which is always a plus. Also, maybe I could sell my xover and use that money to buy the bigger series of XTI amp. The way I have my setup now is have my master out of my mixer to an amp, then I have the booth out of my mixer to my crossover (Lows), then that into the sub amp. This way I can get bass from both the subs and my tops (which at that point are like mids) so in essence have a 3way setup. And since the subs are on my booth out, i have control of them seperatly. I can still acheive that with this amp and without a crossover. Not a bad idea.
Have you had any experience with the XS series?
