Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Quartz Lock INT mode

Most of the time I switch to INT mode is when my needle is real dusty or something and needs to be cleaned. When you switch to INT mode, it locks the pitch setting the record is 'interpretted' as (sometimes too slow, think "Sippppinnnnnnn ooonnnnnnnnn sssoooommmmeeeee sssiizzzzzzzurrp").

Can ctrl-click on the INT button on the screen send SSL into a 0% Quartz Lock mode like ctrol-click on the pitch slider in INT mode 0s the pitch? This would give you time to clean your needle and return to REL or something. The pitch would change back to whatever the turntable was at originally and you could just pickup your mix where you left off.

i like the idea. i have suffer this situation too. switching to internal when needle gets dirty and SSL gets calibration issues results in a disgusting pitch slowdown (when spinning to the crowd this is terrible!!)

sounds good to me... i'd make it alt/option though (because alt/option is a modifier key).

great idea

Last gig I had a couple of problems with SSL reading the control signal, which was due to a noisy environment (lots of cables flying around due to a extremly small dj booth, and all mixed together, powercables, audio cables, light cables bla bla). So I had a couple of problems, and I had to switch back to internal mode, when SSL suddenly changed the pitch due to incorrect control signal. Now, in a hurry, it was not obvious for me how to reset the pitch slider, I grabbed it with the mouse and moved it to zero, but still it sounded awkard, that was cause the "1/2" was automatically selected when I switched to the int mode (cause the speed was that off I assume) but it took some time for me, till I figured it, then in a hurry I clicked on 33/45, which was lil better, but still it didnt work, til I finally found out by trial and error (yes, in that kind of situations where the whole crowd is starring at the dj "what the hell is he doing?!" its not easy to calm down and have clear thoughts on how to fix things) that I had to press the other button (was it "33" not sure).

Bottomline:
It would be really nice if we had some kind of emergency-reset-pitch-slider-and-buttons button. I know someone has allready suggested it before, and I think Sam thought it was a cool idea, but I cant find the thread anymore.

Better would be to have following functionality:
* clicking on "int"-mode button with 'ctrl'-key pressed switches to internal and sets the pitch to 0.0%
* a key combo like 'ctrl'+'F3'/'F8' should also switch to internal mode and set the pitch to 0.0%

This is a really important thing, everyone who has ever suffered from a tracking problem knows what I mean. The sound goes up, down, mickey mouse style, barry white style... and the crowd *stares* at you! So every second less with this garbaged sound is a benefaction!

Any thoughts, comments?

That feature would be cool. I had the same problem once and it was awfull. I had to pull up the internal pitch realy fast.

Nik, What kind of music do you play?

Uh, Ctrl+Int to reset the pitch to 0% has been in the software for years now. You do realize the last posting in this thread was 6 years ago?

Wow. Kinda gratifying to think back about feature suggestions that made it into the software. :)
