Run Xone DX / Itch 1.7.1 with lower specs than recommended?

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to "upgrade" from VCI300 MK1 to Xone DX.
Right now I run a Dell Studio 1555 with Intel Core2Duo T6600 2.2, 4GB Ram
Win7 64bit.
Everything works very well - but I want better sound quality and some more options to play with FX, manual samples....and the XoneDx would have a very attractive price

Would you recommend to buy the Xone alltough the specs are a bit under the oficial recommendations?
Peace Chris

what about the kontrol s4? cheaper, more features, high quality soundcard and 4 channels. A xone dx should work fine with your setup a friend runs it with a xps 1330 2.0ghz core 2 duo 4gb ram.

as an owner of one of this things, I highly recommend it. build quality, the layout - I just love it... I think your Dell setup is fine.

the only problem for me is random audio dropouts. and occasional dropouts when effects are engaged. so far the software (ITCH) is performing below my expectations, but I'm pretty sure it will regain.

I want to stay with ITCH - don´t like Traktor or VDJ too much. In general I like my VCI300. It works very well for Salsa/Latin. But I´m not 100% happy with it´s sound.... and some other aspects of this product. As I´m no scratch-DJ I got 2 ways to go: VCI300 MK2 + VFX1 or Xone DX ..... when I sell my VCI300 MK1 the Xone DX-Solution will be cheaper, and over all seems to be more "professional"
