First night out with it and it was awesome! No drop outs - running 2 ms - 45 rpm - beat grid off - wifi off etc - and it wasn't even heavy on the cpu!
If coming from 1.5 - I do recommend rescaning your songs - 1.7.1 improved on its reading bpm and effects like repeater, and echo - and aside from needing to tweak settings for a little more punch in my sound - it was smooth!
Do it! Make the leap! It appears that Macs have more issues with this release but I'm sure some of you are rocking just fine! Anyone else rocking the new edition?

^ Whoot! we can't be the only ones loving the 1.7.1 - its a clear improvement off of 1.7 - which worked for me but really always got me scared because of how heavy it was on the CPU - for - what appeared to be NO reason at all. ha - but I don't know?...
All I know is - 1.7.1 is a clear improvement and I'm putting the love out there since there is a lot of the opposite on the forum.

Ok, I have my VCI back in the box after weeks of forums and Serato- Vestax to fix a microphone problem plaguing me for months with a perfectly updated Macbook and fantastic microphones(plural). I am swapping it out for something completely different since i cant get help. By the way, I have a Serato Bridge, TTM57, APC40, etc. that work flawlessly with same computer.
Being from Detroit and knowing most of the good DJs here, NO one uses it, so I had no one to relate with.
VESTAX - I LOVE your VCI-100 which Ive had for more than 2 years!. However, I am thankful that the extra warranty I bought will replace it with a completely different piece of hardware. DJS USE MICROPHONES and DON'T WANT IT TO SOUND TERRIBLE!
You lost a customer on that end, but thanks for trying.
As for RANE, Keep up the good work, as you continue to be an industry leader.

Cool beans. Thanks for the update. I never really used 1.7 and am still on 1.5. I'll give 1.7.1 another week and if the majority of poster have pos results, I'll bump it up.

Do you guys can confirm a DRAMATIC decrease in CPU usage?
On the NS7 it now sits at around 15-20%.

Its a hell of an improvement for me - I have 1.5 - 1.7 and the new one on my system and it has been a big improvement
I think if you need to understand better - open it in offline mode first - even 1.5 used way too much cpu for doing - again, as far as I could tell - nothing. Same business in 1.7 but not so in the new one.
Also back spin / effects and scratching stress test I did and 1.7.1 and 1.5 hit about the same level. 1.7 hit closer to 75% - very shocking!

kraal you are correct traktor and virtual in my opinion i,ve had the oppotunity to use them both traktor is ok but dont need all that clutter, virtual always had alot of ok features without any stability and for me stability is the most important thing not over killing bells and whistle so we will see alot of them jumping ship too i think 2.0 is going to change this whole itch game.

Nah nothing crazy. I just didn't realize that the ns7 could be recalibrated. If your ns7 hot cue "1" button lights up when you turn it on - that's your unit way of saying "umm you should prolly check me out!"
If you had your ns7's firmware updated and you've never done it - you might need to.
And those of you who do - ill drop something on you that may save some time....on the last step to recalibrating your ns7 - it tells you to line up the knobs and faders all to their exact middle...no big! So you'll look at the ns7 (lovingly, of course) and notice that even the knob's name is perfectly design atop to be centered - creating this reference point - good right? Then your eq knob have a little notch they fit in to be in the middle - good! then your faders have a little middle mark you can align with the mark on the fader - great!
Then you get to the volume faders - and my logic homies in the house will count the level markers to find the middle - so 1, 2, skip a few....10! Where's the middle? 5? Well yes if you enjoy math but - WRONG! Its some where between the fifth and sixth mark.
...10 mins of my life wasted on wishing I was better at counting - EVEN when I am pretty good with numbers....as it turns out - Numark hates me sometimes. Ha.

Hm - on a 64 bit system - you are currently under specs - needing at least 2.2 ghz... And your L2 cache is 1 MB. So you'll want a different pc I believe.

I found the instructions on calibrating the NS7 to be confusing. Is there a video somewhere showing exactly how to do it?

I don't remember the process or steps... I just recall that they weren't very intuitive and seemed like someone didn't follow them through when they wrote it. I never attempted to calibrate my unit again.

well if your "1" isn't lighting up on the left deck - you don't need it....but if it does - I could try to break it down with pictures - It is really important that you do so if needed - hell I couldn't use loops for a little there til I did it. Got a firmware update and it was all off.

I've tried and has been using gamebooster, a free application that temporarily turns off unnecessary programs. This dramatically lessened my cpu usage. My NS7 + Itch 1.7.1 + Windows 7 on Pentium Dual Core runs smoothly without any audio dropouts since then.
