Weird looking circles with CDJ's... look>>

G-man NYC 12:00 AM - 8 April, 2007
Whenever I have to use CDJ's I get these kind of circles in the set up screen when using the 57.

Everything seems to be playing fine but the circles never looked like this with just the regular interface.

Looks like some kind of distortion, do you have the dip switches on the back of the mixer set to line?
maydo 10:00 AM - 8 April, 2007
i think its normal
my circles are looking same using cdj 1000 mk2

yes.

I have the same thing. They do not look like that when run through the regular interface.

Don't worry about it fella's. That's for calibrating your serato if you are using a vinyl TT. If you're using CDJ decks pay no mind to it. It doesn't matter. That's what I was told, that's what I did, works good for me
Serato

it's a bit of the worry for us, we're looking into it. Good to see it's still tracking 100% though.

Signal clipping.
Rebelguy 8:02 PM - 12 April, 2007
Yeah but it's Rane's control disc. I never run into that issue when I run CDJs through the SL1 box...only on the TTM-57.
djdannyc 9:44 PM - 15 April, 2007
hummm.... ill try on my set up...
Dj Rocky 4:54 PM - 20 April, 2007
Mine look the same with cdj-1000 mk3's and the usb light comes on every now and then. Never happened b4 with the numarks, weird.

Are the tiny switches set to line?
dme3o 3:21 PM - 20 October, 2007
I have the same thing happening on my TTM57. I have used both original control CD's and copies. Same look for the calib. circles.

So far hasn't affected playback majorly. Save for a couple of times at different gigs (same equip used at each gig) where I was playing a track and it stopped cold...not sure if that's related or not. There was still time on the CD. Either way, it should have kicked into INTERNAL mode....weird.

Will investigate further and see if it happens again.

I don't know, this hasn't happened to me. I use the Pioneer CDJ 800MK2. No TTM 57, I'm on the SL1 box.
G-man NYC 9:04 PM - 20 October, 2007
I had the Cd's stop a couple of times on me last night.. not sure if it was serato or the decks cuz I was in such a hurry to resolve it. Still, I have those weird calibration circles as well with CD's and my 57SL as well.
DJ Vega 4:09 PM - 17 December, 2007
Hey guys, any updates on this issue? I just noticed that my circles looked exactly like this when I played on my 57 this weekend with CDJ-1000's. With the SL-1, I never noticed the circles looking like this. And I was using the original control CDs...

Not sure what to make of it, because Serato seemed to track OK. Just curious if anyone has figured out what the problem is, if any??
SCOOTERHOT92 12:15 AM - 18 December, 2007
I use 3500s and my circle are more round then the photo listed above but they are off sync...and yes has anybody else had this happen.......mid song im not even touching the 57 or the decks the song just stops out of the blue......I look like an idiot cause I dont have the next track cued up? any answers to this? it happens pretty often using
DJ Eighty 8 7:12 PM - 18 December, 2007
Yeah it might be your 3500, it's been known to have issues especially with Serato.
nik39 8:04 PM - 18 December, 2007
I think the square edges are because the incoming line signal is too hot.
DJ Vega 8:14 PM - 18 December, 2007
I agree Nik. It's just strange because when I use the same CDJ-1000 setup with my 909 and SL-1, the circles look normal. I'm going to post a screenshot of the circles with my 57.

I just can't understand how the incoming signal could be too hot coming straight out of the 1000 using the original control CDs. However, like I said, I haven't had any tracking issues so far...fingers crossed!

The phono sensitivity should be irrelevant when the dip switches are set to line, correct?

Reassuring. I have virtually the same circles with my CDJs, but seems to work OK.
