What features would you like to see in Serato software?

the feature would just hear where the song actually starts(about 0.7s after start of the file), and move the whole song that much backward, so the start of the vinyl/virtual deck and the start of the actual song lines up perfectly.

It would be wonderful with such a feature, and it can be controlled by just a new button in the setup screen.
The thing is, on normal vinyl, i mark the record where the first sound starts, as to find it easier, plus it's a must for juggles(like the line on the virtual deck)

But with SSL, since most tracks have a small gap of time from start of the track till it actually hits the first sound (which varies from track to track), and thereby marking the start of the record is of no use.

Good idea? Rubbish idea? Discuss.

I hear you, it's a good idea, but you can sort of achieve the same thing if you set a cue point at the first beat/sound/whatever and select play from first cue point option in the setup menu.

i back konix... except that only goes for rel. mode.... the way totem is talking it sounds like he is an absolute man (correct?) I hear you totem

i actually like the start silence. give me room to play with when using the cd control discs.

however an auto cue like feature might be nice where it can start on the first detected downbeat

I like the first cue point on sound idea more, maybe one for first sound (intro) and another one for first beat detected, could be added as part of overview building

i hear all of you, and yes, i'm most certainly an absloute man. So the cue-point technique won't work all the time. But i'm glad you agree, it would be a simple and effective feature.
