jump feature

There should be a feature where you can automatically skip from one cue point to another. Similar to loop feature except now you can jump from one point in song to another essetially deleting or skipping some of the song. it's basically opposite the loop feature in that you aren't extending the song you are making it shorter for those track with nonsense in the middle somewhere.

It's called relative mode and already exists. You use the number keys to jump from cue to cue. This is mostly meant for vinyl users, but I use it all the time with my CD Decks as well.

it doesn't automatically jump. but thanks. i'm familiar with the number key assignments to cue points. i wouldn't suggest a feature that's already there...

Not to knock on the idea, but if you have a track with "nonsense in the middle" wouldn't it make more sense to just edit it in advance?

why edit in advance when you can keep the whole track and not have to double it... we can make a whole bunch of loops on seperate tracks but with the loop function we never have to.
here's what i was thinking... add a button next to the loop button. call it "splice, jump, skip" whatever. when it is enabled, it skips the part of the track that's highlighted green instead of looping it.
Simple huh? if only i were a programmer.
and jj i'm sorry that i copied your idea. i guess to make it up to you i'll say this: we should call the button the jj button! how that? hahahah

My bad. You'd be surprised how many people actually do.
I see what you're suggesting now. It's not a bad idea. You could have a simple section that specifies cue points as a "Start" or "Finish" points so that it knows which section you want played and then order the jumps on a linear table or something like that.

or you could give each cue a possible target and cycle number
0 = skip to target
1 = normal cue
2 = loops (two passes)
3 = loops (three passes)
0 = skip to target
1 = normal cue
2 = loops (two passes)
3 = loops (three passes)

Ah nice, another feature I've wanted for two years now.....cyclic looping. Why not. Let's get both.
