Virtual Serato - Virtual Wav Forms

Ok, bear with me on this one as i don't really know how to explain the idea.

Now, whether team Serato face it or not a lot of people are using SSL inconjunction with programs like abelton in the live environment, and the hardest thing is to see where in relation Serato's WAV's are to your abelton project without jumping around between Applications etc...

What if you could open a display only version of Serato within those programs that would give a readout of the wav forms from serato.

To explain:

I open a Virtual Serato channel in abelton... and all this does is display the wav forms Window from Serato as a channel/wav form within Abelton - NB: it does nothing else. No sound that still runs through the SL1 and the wav form is manipulated by Serato.

That way i could see where my Serato manipulated wav is sitting in relation to my Abelton project and where my cue points within serato were and adjust any loops and next files that were being introduced within abelton.

Then if i did a juggle within serato, or even just scratched in Serato, the display wav form would move slightly along to the right and i could then readjust incoming loops/sound effects etc....

This would allow for better integration and give people the ability to adjust from errors or missed cue points in routines, or larger live sets on the fly.

I guess it would work in the same way a video preview works in something like SONY ACID or VEGAS, and all you would be doing is displaying a wav form and moving it.

Thoughts on this anyone?

*Bump*

Does no one understand this, or is it really just a sh*t idea?

I hear you Monk-A, and i don't think it would be that hard to implement either, could you possible have another screen you plug into your laptop
