dj skiggz 7:51 AM - 12 March, 2007
which should i get, dont really care about the $$$ just wants some good ones.

I had some sony 700s but i broke the plug off on accident.
DJ K-otik 8:17 AM - 12 March, 2007
I heard the Sony 700s are prone to breaking where the cups swing, or something like that. I've had a pair since 2003/2004 and they still work great. But, if I were to buy a new pair today, I'd probably go with those Technics headphones, RP-DH1200s or something like that (every other product in the DJ world uses "1200" in the model number somewhere). They look pretty sweet and I'm sure they hold up. The previous Technics model was really solid too.

i still standby the shure e2 or e3 or the m-audio ie-10 or ie-20 in ear monitors.... once you use them and get used to them you will never go back to Trad. style headphones
Pete Moss 3:24 AM - 13 March, 2007
I will never own a headphone other than a Sony MDR-7506. They're the industry standard in broadcasting and they're awesome for DJing (Howard Stern and Glenn Beck both wear them on air).
pdm2000 3:45 AM - 13 March, 2007
Second the MDR-7506, or its consumer version, the MDR-V6. Only difference is $20 and the gold plated plug. Nearly indestructible, easy to fix, customizable with different ear pads, and cheap, you can pick up the V6s at Fry's for $80. You see these everywhere in pro audio and video production.

I broke mine also the night before I had a gig and went on a panic. I went down to the Sony store from where I had bought it. I told the guy that he needs to help me out, I have a gig tomm, still have the receipt and warranty. He gave me a brand new one for free, spent only $20 for another warranty. Seeing a $150 headphone with a broken plug is not a good look....

warranty is well worth it, you just never know....
rlaci 6:19 AM - 13 March, 2007
sennheiser HD 25
DJ Prinvale` 6:30 AM - 13 March, 2007
I've got the Denon DJ PRO1000's. Great headphones in my opinion. They are really comfortable, and sound great.
DJ Prinvale` 6:31 AM - 13 March, 2007
maybe they are called something else. There is a 1000 in the name, that's all I remember. Denon 1000 something or other. k, i'm done now.

I bought a warranty from guitar center but i dont think it would cover it would it? I mean the little plug is completely broken you can tell it was broken on accident.
dj fluffylumpkins 9:22 PM - 13 March, 2007
my buddy who works there will replace any broken set of phones brought from them with warrentry. He told me one guy has pioneer 1000's, and has broken 4 sets this year
