thanks for all the people that helped with my last issue now a new problem has come up in my journey to become a turntablist master. i have a lot of songs that singing/rapping b4 the actual hard beat comes on making it hard to mix.... how do you better more experienced djs mix in songs like that? im still learning to loop so i dunno if thats the best way looking old songs outro and bring new track in. or should i dl instrumentals of the songs that do that and jus play those in first and then bring in the new song. i have no idea how to scratch so thats not really an option yet. um any advice would be appreciated

Learn to count bars (intuitively or actually counting) and you'll be able to drop it on the "pick up" of the beat that's coming in.

learn your counts, bars, so you know exactly where the beat begins... you have a few years to master this. NO RUSH.

Loop the opening lyrics of the song you want to mix in and make sure it matches the tempo of the beat playing then fade the track with the beat already playing out and drop in the track with the looped lyrics right on beat.

That's a pretty wack way to do it. That's something a house DJ would do, not someone striving be to a turntablist.

Ok then...heres my other answer.
Scratch the living shit out of the lyrics of the track you are mixing in. Chuck a couple of flares and crabs in there, a few stabs and prisms too. Then echo out the track thats playing and drop that mu'fucking track right in on cue.
Oh, I forgot...he said this: " i have no idea how to scratch so thats not really an option yet"
hmmmm.

^ judging from the question i would assume that unlike you his collection isnt entirely compriosed of lil known struggling artists from brooklyn between the years between 92 and 96, im guessing there are edits fro most of the songs hes planning on playing
I do agree with your loop idea though, thats what i would do

*sigh* here we go again. Where do you get the little known artists from brooklyn between the years of 92 and 96 from?.
I really am starting to think you trawl these forums waiting for me to post something so you can reply to it. Spend more time practising you wack ass "DJ" and less time instigating useless arguments.

from wikipedia
Newport is the subject of a 2010 song "Newport (Ymerodraeth State of Mind)",[71] a parody of the Alicia Keys song "Empire State of Mind." The video went viral, was featured on BBC News,[72] and by August 2010, nearly 2.5 million people had watched it on YouTube. YouTube removed the video due to a copyright claim by music publishers.[73][74] Newport-based rap group Goldie Lookin Chain released a 'parody of a parody' video in response, alleging that their rivals lacked local knowledge.[75]
So apparently EVERYONE where you live wishes they were from new york

hahaha...what a dweeb. You should be sponsored by Wikipedia since every bit of "knowledge" you have seems to come from that site. Yeah, we all think we are from New York, thats why its called a parody you dunce.
Lets not turn this thread into another Alkemy-Bezzle shitfight. Like I said, stop stalking for my posts and learn your craft cause seriously, without ANY sense of sarcasm, you need to up your skills because anyone who talks as much shit as you on a DJ forum should at least back it up with some skills.

Bringing this thread back on track...
I'd suggest figuring out how many beats/bars are in that acapella section of the track you're trying to mix in. Then, find an 8 bar segment of instrumental in the track that's playing. Subtract the number of beats of the pella segment from 8 bars (32 beats), and drop the acapella right at that number. Now fade the track that's playing right before the percussion starts on the new track.
For instance, if the pella section of the new track is 24 beats, count 8 beats into your instrumental section on the track that's playing, then drop your pella. Fade around 30-31 beats, and bam! hit your listeners with a new beat right at the end of those 8 bars.
That's the 'beginning turntablist' method, in my opinion.
