if you have a video editor like final cut pro you can do it pretty easy the hard part is ripping the the DVD which isnt too tough.

single DVJ = $2500
That V4 video mixer is $1000
amount of time to rip the DVD, add the timecode for a 4 minute song...
NOT WORTH IT.

Would take about 20 minutes from start to finish. Rip the movie section, edit it in adobe premier and burn.

funny thing is, as soon as serato includes video and everyone jumps on it, the pioneers will probably drop to half or more of what they are now.

I bet Pioneer will not budge on the price, they have the market cornered right now. Even with Serato and VDJ and other video apps to come, there will be those that just do not want to put in the time to rip & label, not to mention the hardware to store and backup HUGE VIDEO collections. I'm creeping 900 gigs and room is filling up fast. The days of lugging a terabyte to a gig are nearing.

If we were talking about songs, then yes maybe... BUT, we're talking video here... files that are 150 MEGABYTES to 300 MEGABYTES a pop!!!
Quick math says 4 videos which can easily be 250 Megabytes a pop = 1 gig of space used. So no, nowhere near a trillion...
Perhaps Serato was the final blow to a lot of record shops that have recently closed, but I do not think hardware will drop in price. Video required a good amount of gear. Think from a starter standpoint. Laptop $1000+ external hard drives ( including backups) laptop stand, control records/cd's etc.. Although the entry price is less than a pair of VDJ's, Pioneer will lean on the number for namesake and watch the software industry play catch up for years to come. Then they'll drop the next round and sit back giggling their asses off again as we need more powerful laptops - bigger drives to house our growing collections and wow-wow-zing mixers to take the video experience to the next level. There will be plenty of future vdj's that do not go the computer route keeping Pio in the money.

3 virtual screens on the laptop: left deck - right deck and the middle is the output. The output on my laptop the S-Video then feeds the rest of the plasma's/projectors at the gig.

if you're using a hardware solution to view dvd's - then yes the three monitors are used, but hte nice thing about the software is that that'll all on your laptop screen. less fuss - less wires and CHEAPER.

i can see that... what a mess of wires for external displays too. just make sure you have a nice and large display. (adding to the cost even more)
whats your processor speed?
