Hi....I use both SSL and Traktor...I must say as much as i am a fan of SSL, Im disappointed with the functions of the Dj Fx on Serato...
The actual sound and the effects themselves are not an issue but how they function when you turn them on and off is the disappointment,the effects are one of the strong point on Traktor and most Dj's i know are using it because of this.....
I wish you could add a wet/dry control and an Fx amount on a separate control,so that when you switch off the fx you still have a tail of the effect.At the moment with Serato its either on or off.
It Kills the vibe of what your doing with that effect.One of the thing that works really well,for me,is reverb,you can open it up on a breakdown and when the track slams back in,switch off the reverb control or turn it down at that point,and you still have an amazing tail of the reverb,which creates a great vibe and is controlled by the wet/dry control,that option is on all the effects....In Serato do the same thing and if you turn down the amount it dies and if you switch off it just kills the effect and it just feels dead...Most clubs i work @ have Pioneer mixers,so that option of adding a slight reverb of flange,filter etc in the mix is quicker from there,so that option is always taken by all the Dj's cause of the ease.Internal effects end up not being used.
Please add that function as it opens up the option to be more creative with your set.
