When I first bought SSL version 1.7 was already out, so I updated to that before I put in my first song. I want to upgrade to version 1.7.1 and I have a few questions.

I know everyone says to backup your files when you download new versions but how do I backup my files?? I have all of my music imported through Itunes - I then make an SSL crate, drag the files in there, then delete the playlist from Itunes - although all music is still in my itunes library. Is that good enough backup??

Since 1.7.1 has a more accurate BPM counter and a higher gain, I want to rebuild my overviews to take advantage of that. I know that if SSL recognizes a song with a BPM already in it, it wont adjust it, do I have to go in and take out all the BPMs? and how do I build overviews for all songs...go into all, highlight all and drag to build overview?

In order to upgrade, just download the link from the site..and after its done, when I open it up it should be all good to go right??

If you look to the right of your screen where the "Index" section is, there is a "search" field.

That should give you all the answers you are looking for.

seriously though, if you have your music stored somewhere else, just make sure you have a copy of the hidden .scratchlive folder that holds your crates and you should be fine.
