Put the crossfader curve at about the 10 o'clock position. That should give you the "dipless" feel your looking for. If not, play with it a little more until you get it to your liking.

No, the faders on the 57 are like the ones on the 56 - Rane's proprietory, short throw, magnetic faders

Faders on the Empath are "Penny & Giles" faders.

empath owns... so Rane Boys, when are you guys going to SL the Empath? Still waiting.....

I've had the ttm-56 and the empath and the faders aren't the same, but they are pretty nice, you can feel a difference a little bit, the ttm feels more smooth but there's nothing i could do on the ttm that I can't do on the empath... i upgraded mainly because i do a lot of clubs and need more ins and outs as well as getting sick of luggin around that horrible power supply... the 57 is awesome though.

back to the orginal question, there's no dip, when the faders in the middle both sides play 100%, i remember the first time i dealt w that dip on an oldere rane i thought the thing was broken

Sheesh, I cant even afford the 57, could you imagine the $$$ on an Empath SL? I'd sell one of my kids to get one though!
