hi guys, i just sold my 56 yesterday, my 557 is arriving today so i need to be using it tonight, im not bothered about effects, or even controlling settings off it, i havent got time to look into that tonight, i just need to know that i can use the 57 like the 56 for tonight just to get by, until i get time to look at it properly.
is there any MAJOR things i need to do to the mixer, or be aware of, the last thing i need is for sound going off etc..
please let me know if theres anything i need to do other than plugging it in, and playing as normal!
thanks

if you are not using serato it will just work standalone out the box... just make use you select the phono/line switched at the back of the mixer as required...

you have 2 options....
you could connect the the SL1 box to the mixer as you would the 56 and everything will be the same.
or
Install the TTM57 drivers and use the laptop directly into the 57.For this you need atleast version 1.6 and above or the 57 won't be identified.
Then just hide the 57 hardware panel and use serato as normal.

haha sounds like when I got mine. Got off work around 6 and it was at my door. hooked it all up and had a gig at 9.
I wouldn't mess with the effects for the first night. I accidentally did and i couldn't figure out how to turn them off. It was pretty funny actually :)

Yeah, I had one of the effects on at a gig and couldn't figure out how to turn it off! It was already past 10 and people were there. I tried everything I could think of and only made things worse. Luckily I had the manual saved in My Documents, so I just had to read and try stuff utnil I figured out how to press Group 5 or 6 or whatever it is, then I noticed that buttons 5 and 6 were lit, so I pressed those, and they turned off. Then I went back to Group 1 and thankfully the effect was turned off and I could mix again. Too bad this all happened in front of some other DJz - talk about emberassing! That's what I get for buying the 57 and letting it sit in my living room while I slave away at my day job, then pick it up for a gig not even knowing how to control the effects.............. :/
I wish they paid us DJz better so I wouldn't have to have this day job... :)

the drivers are in the installation folder once installing ssl. try and update the device drivers from that location. if you got a mac its not needed.
