Thanks for the hate. Reggaeton is here to stay. And I don't even play reggaeton. I play hip hop.
Dj Cassidy 2:33 AM - 1 March, 2007
Im feelin the mix WooDo.

I dunno why alot of dj's on this site bash reggaeton. Is it cause you cant understand it? Is it that you dont like the instrumentals?

Just back up why you guys dont like it instead of making fun of the language.

Thanks Cas. I dont know why many people on here dont like reggaeton...I mean I cant even understand most of it but I think the rhythym and melodies are hott and make people wanna get up and dance and bithes shake there ass to it.
dj KarrsiN 3:05 AM - 1 March, 2007
Don't tell me you guys have never played some El General!
DJJOHNNYM 3:37 AM - 1 March, 2007
I'm basically a hiphop/R&B DJ, who has a passion for house music. I also like classic rock. I'm not crazy about Reggaeton because I feel like I'm playing "somebody elses' music". They're saying things in Spanish, and I don't understand Spanish. All the beats sound the same to me...BUT at the same time, regular Reggae Artists will release a "Rhythm", and everybody will jump on it...so that argument is weak. I just generally don't like to play stuff that I can't "understand" the lyrics of. I could accidently "offend" someone, and not know it, or get "called out" that I don't REALLY know what I'm playing.

But I'll play enough to get by.

Great Job!!! I like this better than the one from the radio station here in L.A. Keep up the good work.
dj skiggz 7:18 AM - 1 March, 2007
Not reggaeton!
JayB1200 12:15 PM - 1 March, 2007
nice mix...
dj cubicle 2:46 PM - 1 March, 2007
listened to it twice through on my way to work this a.m. hot stuff. mind if i pass it along to some friends?
Dj Ryme 3:58 PM - 1 March, 2007
I dont like the music and I dont have a problem letting people know its a piece of shit genre. Im half mexican and understand plenty of spanish so thats not an excuse. Im not getting into a loooong ass discussion going back and forth on why you play reggaeton and I hate it etc. Im not coming back to this topic so dont worry.

BOTTOM LINE

REGGAETON SUCKS AND IM NOT LOSING ANY GIGS BY NOT PLAYING THAT SHIT.
mister iLL 4:08 PM - 1 March, 2007
damn, rhyme....tell us what's really on your mind!

i absolutely hate reggaeton and cannot wait for it to disappear forever. but keep in mind, guys, that the same words were once said about every genre of music that's out there...if you love reggaeton, do your thing! sounds like woodox did a good job on the mix, from the reaction he got from people that actually listened to it.
DJWooDoX 4:46 PM - 1 March, 2007
Thanks to everyone that listened to my mix and gave it a chance. cubicle you can do whatever you want with it.
CMOS 5:00 PM - 1 March, 2007
Once you start listening to reggaeton its hot the way they can make so many different beats using the same basic drum pattern, but to say all reggaeton beats are the same in just uninformed.

MATARRRRON MATAROON UN INOCENNNNTE.
dj skraps 8:44 PM - 1 March, 2007
I'm feelin your mix WooDoX.....I'm pretty much a hip hop DJ...but I can get down with reggaeton....and for people out there that think it's going to go away, you're out of your minds...reggaeton is not just a genre...its a culture just as reggae is to it's people so is reggaeton...its not just music, it represents its people....LATINOS STAND UP!!
dj KarrsiN 9:44 PM - 1 March, 2007
To completely shut out all Reggaeton is completely narrow minded. I can understand the argument that "all" reggaeton sounds the same, but then again, one can make the same argument against hip hop, house, trance, jungle, ect......

If you love it cool, if you hate it cool, I just don't understand how one could say that "all" of it is garbage. I usually always play pun tun by General and it gets great reaction from most if not all ethnic groups.

I myself don't play much reggaeton except for a few selected tracks. I also don't think it will disapear because it's been around for a long time, even if it isn't in the "limelight".

Peace and love to all genres.....
dj fluffylumpkins 9:53 PM - 1 March, 2007
bear in mind that latinos down here are the fastest growing section of the community, and also have money to spend. I started sliiping reggaetron tracks into sets about 2 years ago, and still do it now. I will not play an hour of it non-stop but i use it to break up the or transition between hiphop tracks.

I do not speak spanish but have no problem playing it, mind you i have also be known to play french, german, spanish (real), uk and japanese tracks in a set, after all they dance to the music not the words, which in most cases are often childlike and innane.
sixxx 10:10 PM - 1 March, 2007
I spin reggaeton as the need arises. Sometimes I may play a few songs. Sometimes none. I just take it as a regular "request" thing.
