Everything has been all good for me and I do a lot of scratching. I rarely ever push the pitch past +6 on my 1200. So I can't say with confidence if there's anything funny going on with the sound past that.

I think I read that here too. And in theory I think it's true. That's the only way I could see getting a real "scratch" sound.

Key Lock has scratch detection, so that it automatically turns off when scratching for a natural scratching sound.

Horrible!!! I'm about to start a thread on the HELP Section. 1.7.1 sucks for me.
This past Saturday...
- First time using 1.7.1 live at a club.
- I heard a lot of "dirt" type noises. Kinda like when you have a dirty record. Yet, I was using it with CDJs. Go figure.
- SSL displayed all my tracks as broken links! WTF?
- When I would try to load a crate, it would scan the folder, like it should, but when done, the songs wouldn't show up. Even after restarting SSL, it would still not do it. SSL 1.6 did the same thing right after I closed 1.7. I had to delete the preferences to be able to get the crates to show up properly.
- Tracks off iTunes playlists displayed as broken links.
- BPM's displayed with 5 digit numbers.. ex 49305
- Keylock sounded really weird.
I gave up right away, and went back to 1.6. I had to reload all of my crates because they were showing up as broken links. I mentioned this above.

been using it since the day it was released without problems. Had some dropouts the other night, but that was because I have iphoto open in the background and once I quit iphoto the dropouts stopped.

DjWoody, were your files still showing up as missing in 1.6 after you ran 1.7? If you moved the mouse over the missing file icon, it should show you where Scratch LIVE is expecting those songs to be. Was the path correct?

Friend of mine, DJ Classic (SF) told me when he switched to this upgrade and he was doing his overviews, SSL straight quit on him, then he re-did the overviews and it worked fine.....
What's the issues with overviews and this upgrade, I'm still staying true to I think 1.6.3
