Gig w/ Julls - 24 February 2007

I went out to a gig Julls had going on and set up my coffin to rock out a little while and spend some time kicking it.
Well.... I'll let Julls fill in the details but let it suffice it had all the elements of a traditional Southern party plug a lot more....
I'll let him try to explain:
The keg
The fireworks
The gun fire
The cops showing up
The drunk Chinese guy they had running into the woods to hide multiple times during the night
The D'N'B set that didn't go over
The 'gay' set that went over just a little too well
The annoying kids that kept giving us a urban playlist
The adults that kept having us play the same country music cd over and over
and oh, so much more....
I did realize one thing though... the next time I go out to do a gig with Julls like this I'm bringing my laptop, X-Session Pro and leaving almost everything else at home. I really didn't need my SLDZ's, SL 1200 (other than to record an album for Julls), or much else. I could have left the trigger finger in the trunk and most of my other gear.
I also realized that the keyboard stand I bought to put my coffin on kicks complete and total ass. Rock solid bit of kit....

Sounds like you guys still bring a ton of gear when you spin? I don't even take backup vinyl or a power supply anymore.

Julls brings a TON of gear. I bring a coffin and a trunk that has my shelf, mic stand, spare cables, wireless mic and other basics.
Julls brings a hell of a lot more.... I keep telling him he needs to get rid of that 8' long coffin he has... (2 turntables + 19" rack space). Wouldn't be so bad if the TTs were battle style but they're not.
Remember, we're doing mobile gigs. There's nothing but power when we show up. And sometimes even that is questionable....
