Turntable pitch control % not holding steady

Has anyone noticed the pitch % displayed on the player continually changing? I can't get it to stay constant, even when I am not moving the pitch slider or touching the control vinyl. I like to do some long mixes and I don't have confidence that the tempo I set with my Technics sl1200 will remain steady.

it's because of your slipmats and a bit of drift in the pick up of the control tone... you'll never get absolutely solid pitch using vinyl, but it's only a tiny shift. just means you have to keep an ear to it...
