Pan Knob to Control Super Knob FX

I know this idea would require a firmware update ...
In practicality I think people would much rather have the pan control do somthing more useful like the super knob or a joint HiPass LowPass filter as this is much more useful than just panning sound which I don't think I have ever heard anyone use in a real life djing.
Had a little think on how it could work. Just having a tick box in hardware tab to assign it to the superknob DJFX control or directly use is as a HP/LP filter or maybe a toggle between Pan,SuperKnob and Fillter ( Ideally ). Other nice thing is it physically has dip when you rotate the knob which gives nice contextual feedback when the HP/LP filter or SuperKnob is centered which you don't tend to have on external Midi Controllers.
Just a thought. Would like to hear feedback on this idea.

And while im on the subject. Maybe have an option for the flex on/off toggle to be an on/off toggle to be the DJFX on/off toggle for the super effect and again use the LED on off to give contextual feedback that the effect has been switched on or off...

+1..................million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love this idea.
i don't think the flex effects can interface with the hardware...but i dunno for sure. i'm almost positive the pan knob can interact with the software as panning will be able to be recorded in the mixtape feature in the bridge,

I was thinking that myself hence it was an after thought second post. But from having abit of inside knowledge on the bones of sl and the ttm Im quite convinced this could and should ;) be done ...
Need Warik or one of the other serato boys to jump in and give there thoughts?

I was hoping this would be possible with the 2.1 update. This would be the most ideal setup for the effect imho. ( Pan controlling effect with FlexFX for on /off )

suppose this could also be expanded to use channel reverse buttons to switch faders into FX controllers too (a la Ean Golden VCI-100SE)

1. For the sake of the Mods, I'll mention that this should probably be in the feature suggestions area. But since there is so little activity in the SL57 area and since we haven't seen a meaningful update to the 57 in ages, I don't think it matters.
2. Cool idea. I'm all for being able to assign all 57 knobs, joys, or buttons at least to all SSL functions.
3. It'll never happen, so we've gotta hope Bridge will open up the opportunities for creative patching, mapping, and routing.
4. Sorry to b a party pooper.

1) Debated putting this topic in feature suggestions however this is hardware specific I thought it was probably better for TTM owners to discuss.
3) Though I kinda agree that it will probably never happen theres no valid reason why it shouldn't ( Though it would require require a firmware update and in doing so firmware must be tested thoroughly before public updates are made ).
Im of the opinion that althoguh the 68 is rane/serato's flagship. The 57 is still the choice of battle mixer and as such still has valid route to market + rane/serato have an obligation to continue support for legacy systems ( Even though this mixer can't be classed as legacy as its a different beast to the 68 which seems geared towards people who favour the DJM 800 and electronic music as apposed to you turntablists who likes cuts ). What Im saying here is basically even if serato can't justify the time to add extra features or functionality to the 57 financially they still should continue as a duty of care even to customers who recently bought the 57.
Lastly if its a good idea and enough people want it then why not breathe some life back into it until rane release a 2 channel successor ( this in my opinion wont happen for a while as the 57 is a damm good product built to last with firmware that was meant to make it upgradable not replaceable ).
4) Don't apologise for being sceptical, your entitled to your opinion.

if this were to happen it would breathe new life in the product cycle of the 57. I'm all about the 68 but I would much rather use the 57 in many situations because it is so simplified. These firmware upgrades we suggested would unlock a lot of potential in the 57 and probably drive sales a bit further.

+1 to these ideas. So far the 57 has been a bit less "future proof" than I'd hope for.

I have started a thread in the scratchlive feature suggestions so please comment there to make it more popular so it gets noticed by the right people.
