Eliminating the Technics ground wire? Using 57SL

I'm gonna get stuck into giving my techs a refurb, and I've seen the ground wire hack on various sites- I need to replace my RCAs so I was thinking of removing the ground wihlst I'm there. IWould my Techs be safe for use with the 57SL? I've heard that internally grounding is good for use with Serato, but I haven't heard any explainations why (or, more importantly, why not).

Yo I did the ground wire mod and replaced the RCAs on one of my decks not too long ago when it wouldn't respond in Scratch Live and a straight vertical line showed up in the setup mode one day.
Anyways, I use the 57 and right now my left deck has an external ground wire and the right does not. I can't say there's any noticeable difference between the two turntables with an external ground wire or not, as far as software response or sound quality goes.
Each signal (Left and Right) has two wires that solder to the Technics circuit board for a total of 4 wires soldered to 4 contacts on the board. When you cut the black external ground you just have to make sure you solder it to one of the two available signal ground wires.
It took me 2hrs start to finish including a trip to radio shac to get a better soldering iron... for 8 bucks haha. get the pointed needle type, and a cpl zip ties. If you have steady hands and some time I recommend. It makes it easier to gig with and you dont have to worry about the flimsy ground in your case if your mobile.
