Taking out Serato for the 1st time today. I feel like its my 1st gig ever and I've been doing this for about 15 years already. Feel like I can hold my own for the night, I've been reading the forums, applying all the tips and tricks I've read on. Locking the decks etc. I'm just hoping I dont vomit when I get there. :-)

It's awesome! just think about how cool it is that you dont have to look for any records/cd's... and that you only have to take 2. not 2 crates or cd books... just 2 records or cd's.

A story from my first time that i'll remember forever happened at a wedding.
the bride said that her former brother-in-law would be there, and that i would be able to tell who he was... and she added DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH THE MIC.
so half way through this annoying guy comes to me and asked for the mic, because they have a "family tradition"... (hmmmm... this must be him...)
I tell him sorry... cant...
he walks away goes to one side of the room and starts yelling and making all kinds of noise... "everybody... Everybody, over here!!! can i have your attention (clapping his hands above his head) he continues, we have a tradition in our family."
I dove to the side of the table with my laptop and hit YMCA... and then PLAY, and drowned out everything else he said. Funny thing is that he still had his hands above his head so everyone started cheering and thought he was wanting to do that YMCA.
SERATO is worth every penny because there is no way i could have ever done that without it.

i got a big smile... i had been working for a company and my boss had created a bunch of drama for me do deal with (wanted to sabotage me from dj-ing on my own) so when she was talking about a tip i said dont worry about it. how about a letter of recomendation

just wanted to come back and give you guys an update on my 1st night with serato. though i was nervous to begin with, within the hour i was rocking comfortably. it was a total success. the next night at my residency, everything was good, though i had an issue with the cd player's right side skipping. luckily they had another installed and it all worked out. the 1st night i used a numark cdn88, which i must say was very responsive, i was shocked how responsive it was since i hate playing with numarks. (i dont like the 3 button layout) my 2nd night they had a denon 9000 and 2600. the 9000's drive B was acting up making my music jump. changed over to 2600 and rocked with that, though i must say the 2600 with serato isnt all that great. overall, it was a great success, thanks serato!
