Ok this is a big step for me. Im getting rid of both of my Stanton st8-20 turntables and stanton mixer (smx-201). I just bought a pair of Technics SL-1210M5G (Grandmaster), Rane TTM56 mixer, Pair of butter rugs and two SHURE M44-7 needles. Mint condition and was only used one time for a few hours in a commercial (Allegedly). $1645 is what i paid. It might be a few buck to high but over all its sweet set up. let me know what you guys think about this jump

I Hope im not going to be lugging those things around anytime soon. How are your feelings on the butter rugs and the Shure M44-7 needles

never used butter rugs.

the Shures are nothing short of amazing.

I have butter rugs and Shures..A++ for both items. Give the Shures time to break in.

And Butter Rugs take a little getting used to, but once you do... Like Buttahhhhhh. ;)

ok i just got the turntables and all i can say is wow. I have been living in the dark ages. Im still learning how to use the TTM56. Anyone have any suggestions on maintaining the grand master 1210m5g turntables??

I went to guitar center by my house and tried trading in my old set up and they offered my $20 for two turntables and a mixer !!

lol that shit was garbo.....whats funny is we have the same EXACT setup rite down to the rugzzzz......jus remember, ur not always gonna have the +-16...i learned that the hard way....

Congrats on the upgrade...Its such a good feelin when you upgrade to some shit like that...you just want to look at them and smile! :) I want to get myself a 56 or even a 57...but my 2 root canals that I gotta pay for are puttin that on the back burner for a while!

Yeah buddy! Congrats on your purchase Mike d. I just got mine last Saturday (3/3/07) and have never been happier. The Rane 56 is next for me as well.

But I'm sticking with the Stanton Trackmaster 2's. The best needles I've owned for 17 years.
