Fixing Channel Faders

Mr. Goodkat 6:10 PM - 17 February, 2007
Thought I'd let you peeps in on this one, although it may not be advised by Rane.

I was having some channel fader problems with bleeding unless my slow-fast was all the way left to slow. My sound guy opened it up and showed that the contacts were bent slightly backwards. He straightened it up and it works perfectly now. I don't know why they bent, but the mixer is at the club, and it takes a massive amount of abuse from drink spilliage since our booth is in the middle of the club. Amazingly, after about 3-4 mixed drinks, it still works flawlessly.

Which contacts exactly?

Sounds like a problem with your hall sensor.

well if you open the mixer up and see the rails that the faders run on, they are at the back. ITs a really small kind of button looking thing.

Can you take a pic please?

There are pictures in the manual, if your manual doesn't have them download the latest version from the Rane website.
