Auto gain??

Okay, like many people here, I think it sucks. But also, even when it's off, the gain still change. This is annoying that I have to raise the gain every single time I put a new track. Can't it just stay in the middle

That's what the auto gain does, it changes the gain knob on the players for the song. If you built overviews with the auto gain option on, and you don't like and and want to reset them all to 0, there's a button now for that in 1.7.1. But the auto gain has been improved in 1.7.1, much louder now, so you may want to retry.

hmm, I'll have to give the 1.7.1 a try, but I doupt making it louder will make it better. Its just that some of my track become almost mute when autogain goes on, about 90% of them.
Funny thing though is I was still using the 1.6 with no auto gain option but the knob still moves by itself. That's what I was wondering and why it does that

It does that because the gain tag is still in the song. The auto gain isn't real time, it gets stored in the files themselves.

I notice this weekend when i was playing that some of the tracks was load and some was low. i even had a few people to come up to me and was like turn it up. Well it looks like i need to do my overviews again.

According to the documentation you do have to 'force' files that have already been overviewed to be overviewed again, and if you have auto-gain and/or auto-bpm checked they will then be applied. You force it to be overviewed again by dragging the files over to build overview button (you can shift click). Hope my $0.02 helps.
My question is: What is the decible target value for leveling the gains? 95db?
Thanks in advance.
