POLL: NEW TTM57SL COVER

8:07 AM - 8 February, 2007
OK GALS & GENTS HERE IT IS!!!
Ok, first off I'm in the works for building and selling a new cover plate for the 57, before I go into product I'm taking a poll.
The Question is what kind of cover would you like?
1. A White Sticker that is laid over your cover, on top of which is transparent platter that will go to any color of the rainbow.
2. A simple Replacement cover: See here only for a 57 instead.
www.rane.com
The Reason I ask is because I can do either, but I'm only going to do one. The idea is that if you want just a white mixer you could just get that, but if you want the Light panel with it, you can get that too.
Why a light panel? In my DJ Booth it’s very dark, so I lay a glow stick between my knobs for light. The other reason is that if DJ woody likes a Blue Mixer and Nik_39 Likes a Pink mixer, both DJ's can have a product that can not only do both, but also changes with the movement of an adjuster knob. I can't give away too many details on how it all works. But just trying to figure out not only what you that TTM57SL people want but also what is the most effective/cost efficient product.
I await your response!

One more question is what are you willing to pay for a color changing plate, or a standard one color plate?

color changing. so i can change it to red when i get angry over stupid requests, blue when i'm calm, and green for when i'm....um...greeny.

Pink is fine with me.
But what I would like to see is a transparent cover, and a template which you can print to your needs, then cut out and put in between the transparent cover and the mixer.
This would also give you the option to label those buttons to your needs and to your function map, ifyaknowaddamean.

I CAN do custom art, insteand of my background, but it will cost more, and will be done on a case by case basis.

I'd enjoy a color changing face plate... What kind of cost is the buyer looking at for something like that?

Whatever you make, make sure it looks super cool and is super durable - one of the best things about the current faceplate is its durability.
Color change sounds like a gimmick to me. But then again, people love gimmicks...

I just got my vacation so Im putting alot of R&D in to it, hopefully by the end of the month, but were still waiting on the specs for the plate from RANE...
DJ Nevoc
3:40 AM - 7 March, 2007
UPDATE: I have the specs from RANE, Will get a picture of the prototype once its sent from the manufacturer.
DJ Nevoc
9:55 PM - 8 March, 2007
UPDATE: After talking to Rane about possible solutions, it will be hard to come out and produce the CHAMELION cover...
HOWEVER, I can start taking orders for a custom faceplate. Basically you will replace you current decal for an identical one, but with either your cutsom colors/artwork, or one of my base images.
Still looking on getting a price, obviously Custom artwork will cost more than a standard color change.
Please submit custom images to djnevoc@yahoo.com

May be possible, but the Rane guys said anything not metal for a cover plate could cause complications. I'll look into it.

So, we basically have to lift the decal off the metal plate & place the new colored decal perfectly in its place. Is the material being used the same as the original decal?
Also, can I see how a faceplate with red replacing the black & the grey with a lighter grey matching a MacBook Pro? That would be my choice when available.

Yes just lift the old one off and put the new one on, same material, and you can make the faceplate any picture or color just let me know the colors.

I really want to customize my mixer but I was wanting to do more like get a secondary face plate and have it painted at a auto shop. Has anyone done that yet?
DJ Nevoc
4:20 AM - 19 September, 2007
This can work. What you'll need to do id get in ontact with RANE and try and get a copy of the Lexan sticker and a faceplate seperate that come with the mixer. Once you get them have your plate painted. Then place the stickers on the mixer. and cut out the gray area you dont want with a razor blade/exacto knife.
