Hello all, i just wanted to know if i can control virtual Dj like i would with serato using serato control vinyl. i saw a video where the guy says that virtual Dj works off the serato sound card. if one can control virtual dj with the serato control vinyl then they can prob be unstopable, pretty much. If this is possible can someone plese break it down for me since i wanna get into mixing music videos....another thing about the music videos does the sound that one is mixing come from the muisc video itself or can i syn my Mp3 song to the video for better sound quality and original lyrics vs censored.
-thanks

Its not possible, My VJ loves Virtual DJ and he hooked it up and the sound card works but its like DJing in SSL using only INT mode.

VDJ timecode is pitched differently, SSL vinyl will work but not as well as their vinyl. Other than that a SL1 unit is recognized within VDJ. VDJ plays mpegs and other file formats, the audio is embedded with the vid.
Save your money - Serato is developing a video plugin - should be out within a couple/few months. hopefully.

WRONG!!!
Yes Vdj works with the serato box! But you need to get a midi mixer (about 100$) so you can control the crossfader for video transitions.
No, you cant assign a mp3 to a video, but you can do that with any video software, simple replace the original audio, and than export to .avi .mpg or whatever

oh small correction.. in order for it to work you need to use offitial vdj timecoded vynil or numark virutal timecoded vynil.
The Serato TCV carrier wave frequency is 1000 hz while the official VirtualDJ TCV's frequency is 1200 Hz, so the pitch adjustment in VirtualDJ will be slightly askew when using the Serato TCV.

you can't use vinyl with it.
Push button only.

In order for the the software to receive the timecode signal from the vinyl you have to have the input selector switches set to A1-A4. In order to hear the output from the software you have to have your switches set to D1-D2. This is why it doesn't work.
