Questions before I buy? Currently have FS

Hello everyone,
Im new to the ssl forums but been djing for years. I have a couple of questions that I would really appreciate some suggestions/asnwers.
I currently own Final Scratch 1.5. For the most part, I like it but I wish it was a lot more dependable. It freezes, crashes, etc. Not all the time but mostly when youre playing out.
I have read A LOT about SSL and everyone seems to like it.

1. Is there any way to change the display (color, vertical displays)? I hate how the beats run vertically unlike FS that run horisontally.

2. Does it use a power cord or run by USB?

3. If power cord, does it create ground loops like FS?

4. Is the recording quality better than FS?

Thanks

2. it is run by USB

3. it runs by USB.

No, FS records a little better. If it helps, everyone I know that used to use FS slowly switched over to serato, and they are all very happy with it, will never go back, especially now that supposedly there is going to be tractor for serato, and now there is a pitch lock.

About the horizontal waves, the FS users I'm talking about all started out using those waves(because they were used to that) but now every single one of them uses the vertical waves. They say its easier. I dunno, I never used FS though.

1) Vertical waveforms are the ish, but yes there are horizontal waveforms. See this pic ... i48.photobucket.com
2) It runs off USB power, but there is an optional power adaptor that you can buy at any Radio Shack and is good to have.
3) No, no ground loops that were notorious with FS1
4) Can't record directly in SSL. Got to use a separate soundcard and program.
