My 1st SSL Night (mostly) A Success Too!

Thundercat 12:50 AM - 1 March, 2005
Yep, this past Saturday was my first night out with the new hotness. Much like LC in his earlier post, the equipment had many similar issues. The bar's Rane MM 8z mixer had 2 line channels jacked up. It took me an extra 10 minutes to get that all worked out. I only had one crash. Luckily, the crash was while the promoter's boy was playing his agreed to (reluctantly on my part) 30-minute dancefloor destroyer set using regular vinyl. I was browsing tracks and *poof* crashorama. I think it may have been some bad tracks or something. I had added some tracks from my partner's MP3 CD that night for him to use and I don't have the software loaded on my laptop to scan for bad MP3’s. That was the only hiccup I had in an otherwise flawless evening. I scanned the CD when I got home and found 7 corrupt tracks. I don't know if that was the issue or not, but nonetheless he has to get me any of his tracks a day or two early now if he wants to use them on my machine. :)

Which version of SSL are you using Thundercat? If you encounter again a problem with a dodgy mp3 _please_ send them to serato as described here scratchlive.net <- click.

Thundercat, or anyone, can you recomend me some free downloadable mp3 scan software that detects "bad" mp3s. Ive never had an SSL crash but I haevnt loaded too many mp3s up with it, even though i haev about 6700 on my HDD..... id like to scan for future problems
