I am about to buy myself SSL but i whas wondering if Rane whas planning to release a new version to compete against the FS2?
I wouldn't feel good if i went out to buy myself the SSL and that a week later there would be a SSl 2 version on the market.
Feel me?
So please keep me informed...

How can you compete when there's no competition? ;)
As far as we know, there are no plans for a new version of SSL in the near future. At least according to one of the mods some time ago, and these fellers never tell a lie. That's official. They are not like NI or anything. What they also said was that the current hardware interface will always be compatible with future software.

Dog, you gotta trot on over to the FS boards and ask when Native is planning to release a new version to compete against SSL.

The reason there is a FS2 is because of SSL...

Why do people keep asking the same old dumbass question? It's starting to get annoying now. Obviously if they're asking, they're not taking the time to read the comments on this board. That's the MAIN reason why I dumped my FS1.0 which I was using happily until SSL came along and made me elated! People, go to the FS forum and read the comments people make. Then read the comments made by SSL users here. You can compare and contrast and you should easily be able to make a good decision. I bet you won't even have to spend 10 minutes reading the posts from each board because it'll become obvious pretty quickly which customers are happier.

I'm sorry if my statement sounded a little harsh, wasn't targetting you specifically. You just gotta understand that you're one of several people that come onto this board to ask about SSL version 2. I've never tried FS2.0 but I'm sure SSL is just as good as if not better than FS2.0 so it just irks me when people keep asking if there's going to be an updated version when there's no need to even ask for an updated version. Just had to get that off my chest. I'm sure lots of other SSL users feel the same way.

SSL hit the ground running and actually works. The updates so far have been good and made some major improvements to the product. Version 2 is very premature at this point. Let the geniuses at Rane/Serato work on that. They are listening to our needs and when the time is right it will happen.
I for one, dont mind getting a new SSL box with MIDI, Optical, ADAT, etc etc when it comes out. The reason being that the one I have right now works and I know it will be supported for as long as Rane/Serato are around. Judging by things ... my grand children will also use SSL. (Will make sure in my will).
FS ... well I dont care if they include a pocketpussy with it. They had their golden chance and just sh!t on their customers. I will NEVER use their products again even if they were free. That's how mad I am at them
I am done trying to convince folks that SSL is the way to go. To each, their own. They will learn the hard way.
Let me go and SSL, its the second best thing in the world.

Yeah I cant even think of anything to improve on SSL physically besides maybe differnt inputs like s42000 suggested but hell I dont even need those... a whole new SSL would just be a marketing ploy for money if Rane did it, and they arent the type of company to do so. Stanton makes some OK products, FS isnt one of them.
