Welcome to the weekend!!!!
Just an FYI...if for some reason you are unable to access the mix today (Friday) please be patient. I'm in the process of moving the site to a larger server to handle the increased traffic on www.djsilk.net
Until it goes down....Enjoy!!!!!!!

Nice mix, Silk. Do you make this for a radio show or just for fun?

I do it in hopes to get a permanent spot on someones' airwaves. :-)
I send an email which has program directors and mix coordinators included on the distribution list. Hopefully they'll eventually see that I'm consistant and hungry.
If you want to be added to the email distribution just shoot me an email with "add me to your mix list" in the subject line to djsilk@djsilk.net
or, you can just hit my site up www.djsilk.net and get the mixes from there. I put the Monday mix up Sunday night, and the the Friday Mix up Thursday night.

If I could give some constructive criticism, I think the drops in the mix are kinda annoying. I play everything at work on low (office job), but when the drops come in, everyone knows I'm "listenin to DJ Silk", cause the volume on the drops are a lot higher than the tunes. But other than that, good job.

Thanks Likwid. I try to balance the volume of the drops out...but they're doing their job. ;-)

You might want to think about getting some professional drops done. I know there are some internet companies that do em, but I'm not sure if any of em are too professional. I ordered 4 drops from a company before, and 8 months later, I got 3 of em and one was messed up, so I'm not gonna endorse them.

@ likwid- what do you mean exactly by "professional drops" you have a pre-recorded thing like... "you're in tune to the sounds of Likwid" then you just drop a tune? what is a "professional drop" i guess is my question.

Well I guess I shouldnt say "professional", but what I'm getting at is the kind of drops you hear on the radio. Its usually a guy with a deep-ass voice who says the drop and there's usually some effects in the background. This as opposed to getting your friend to speak into a mic.

The links seem to be working. I'm still in the process of changing servers so things may get a little wacky soon.
As far as the drops are concerned...hmmm...I kind of like the drops that I have. I'm really don't to even use them except that I don't want to get the proper recognition for my work.
I've always thought that the best drops where bits of audio that weren't intended to be used as drops. For example..."I Like dj silk"...that girl was just buggin on the phone and I happened to be recording the conversation.
Now when people see me in the streets that's the first thng they say to me.
