damn chill homey.

I see you dont have Serato. how old are you?

its aight. Beatmatching is slightly sub par. Kinda dont hit the bars correctly. You post on the forum tho your having people who constatnly be doing this critique, so for the average person the mix probably sounds good. Its not bad tho, just work on beatmatching and let the beats overlay a little longer instead of just kinda fading in and out of tracks.

i agree way to long on the intro, but i noticed that through the whole set. you let instrumentals play to long. the scratching wasnt on point. there was actually a few things wrong with it but i dont wanna put you on blast, you can send me a PM and ill holla @ you. keep practicing.
nik39 12:49 AM - 22 January, 2007
The intro was too long. Plus you kinda get the people excited 5,4,3,2,1... and then again a countdown?

Mixes technically not good, beats were not matched correctly, they were almost instantly trainwrecking, I guess thats why you kept the blends so short.

I liked the music though :) Where is the track list?

Oh and... did you record on the same machine? It sounds like you had a lots of small dropouts, USB dropouts?
nik39 12:51 AM - 22 January, 2007
Another thing... you have to watch the levels. The intro had way too loud parts, which were clipping quite loud.
nik39 2:34 AM - 22 January, 2007
Also... if you use an instrumental to make up for lacking a mixing intro for the next track - thats cool. But you need to make the transition to the full version a little quicker and maybe more interesting. Take care and improve on the scratches, that makes things a little more fluent and more interesting.

How long do you think is good enough? let's say you mixed the chorus (32 count) then let the instrumental play..do you let it play for 4 bars of just 'dead air'? or is that too long
nik39 2:41 AM - 22 January, 2007
Good question. 4 bars = 16 count ~= seconds at 96bpms, if you spice it with some cutting, scratching or something that would be okay I'd say. But then I wouldnt start the full version from the whole beginning, that would take the energy off again, if youunderstand what I mean.

not sure on the full beginning. You mean the 1st verse? so you'd drop the 2nd verse (or whatever verse thats not the 1st or the singer/rapper "talking") or even the chorus? But yeah. I'm working on my scratching right now and just trying to make that scratch "land" on the 1st beat to the 1st down beat of the instrumental.
nik39 2:50 AM - 22 January, 2007
Ehm... are you djras? I am confused, didnt he make the mix?

No. Start directly with the verse... or hook ... or something, but not with the whole song straight from the start. But... well, never say never, it all depends.

naw im not djras, didnt mean to hijack the thread..hah
