Hi
After I installed the 2.1 RC1 in the setup I get a message that firmware can be updated. What does the update do and should I update or should I wait until the official SSL 2.1 is out?
Thanks.

Found this:
Added SL 3 firmware update to v2.30. Firmware v2.30 will allow for compatibility with future Core Audio / ASIO drivers.
Can anybody explain what 'future Core Audio / ASIO drivers' mean? :)
Thanks.

It means that you'll be able to use the SL3 as a regular soundcard in other programs.

I thought this might of been a bigger deal. I'm going to try and use the SL3 tonight with some other apps and see what's up.

2.30 Firmware is stable. Been testing it for 3 days now. No issues. Dammit it still doesn't work as a sound card :(
Is it just me, but I have a 09' 15" MacBook Pro 4GB Ram 2.53 gHz laptop (10.6.3), and 2.10 runs really smooth. The framerate on the waveforms and the virtual decks are so smooth compared to 2.0. However still a bit buggy though. I'm gonna wait for a stable release then buy the dicers :)

The release notes do not mention that it can be used as a souncard from other apps yet.

Yet. Remember people just it's just an update for future use.
I'm guessing it's in preperation for BRIDGE use.

If ur sl3 is plugged go to setup and it will indicate the version it is on. It will tell you if u need an update.
